Ipad/ipad mini or kindle fire hd?

Just my two cents . . . if you plan to use moderately to heavily as an e-reader you should get the kindle. Reading books on the iPad really sucks, especially if you're outside.

Just to confuse you even more have you seen the Samsung Galaxy Tab2 tablets? I just bought two today at Best Buy for $199 each.

I tried them out several times before buying and really like them. And I myself have an IPad which I love. I thought the responsiveness was better than a Kindle Fire and like that it has a Micro Sd slot so you can expand the memory if it fills up.

We have several Apple products we love, but it is becoming harder for me to justify the price difference between this and the IPAD mini.

I just got a new Samsung Galaxy Note phablet (phone/tablet) last week. I had a hard time deciding between an iphone and this one as I am used to Apple products, too. The phone has the Google Play Store for apps. I assume it is the same with the tablet as they are both Samsung Galaxy products... But I could be wrong (it's been known to happen).

The above is correct. Just about any Android tablet (Kindle fire being an exception, since it's not stock Android) will use the Play Store for apps. Very similar to the iTunes equivalent.

What is everyone's recommendation between all of these if you mainly want to use it for Face Book, email and general web surfing??

Kindle Fire. For the price it's a steal. For apps you hit the link at the top of the home page to select apps, then store. They offer one free daily.

I bought the original model last Feb and it's without a doubt the best money I've ever spent.
