Hi,
I have an iPad 3 with a black leather Apple Smart Cover. I love how sleek and thin t is However, it offers no protection to the back of the IPad. Is there something that I could use to cover the back and still use the Smart Cover. I tried the Incipio rubber back but it covers the sides of the iPad completely so the Smart Cover magnet won't stick. I have an INCASE Arkitip Rostarr that protects it when I'm out and about but at home it's a pain to take off and on for recharging and does make the iPad more bulky. Has anyone found an ideal sleek covering for the back that allows you to use the Smart Cover?

The smart case from Apple is the answer to all of your problems.... It's very sleek and works the same way as the smart cover, but gives back coverage... Love mine!

I you want serious protection... I dropped my ipad from 5 feet on linoleum over concrete And not a blemish I'd suggest an otter box. It will make it bigger but the cover works like a Smart Cover and doubles as a nice stand.

I had various full-cover cases on my iPad 2, but did not like the how thick/hefty they made the iPad feel. I really wanted it to be very slim and light. I use a black leather Smart cover on the front and a custom Gelaskin (www.gelaskins.com) on the back. While it does not protect from drops, it does protect very well from scuffs and scratches in day to day use. I then carry it in an inexpensive neoprene bag/case from $5 Below.

I'm also careful with my iPad as are my wife and two daughters who also use this iPad and none of us have dropped it or scratched it yet.

But the stand has to be detached or angled in order to use the back camera on the iPad 3. I'm a big fan of the Otterbox line based on the iPod cases we have, but since I use the iPad for video frequently, the two Otterbox options were clumsy. I would have dropped the iPad just trying to get the stand off, lol.

If the OP likes the smartcover, s/he should get the Apple smartcase. The two are designed to work together.

My iPad was a birthday gift and it came without a case/cover. I bought a $5 "icon" case at FiveBelow, but the cover wasn't hinged like the Smartcover, so using it for video was again, clumsy.

Just yesterday, I replaced my starter cover with a new cover from rocketfish called the "skinny case." ($30 at BestBuy) The iPad snaps into the back shell, leaving the cameras, speakers, switches and port accessible. The attached cover is creased so I can fold it back when I use the camera. There's a built-in magnet that turns the iPad on and off automatically when you open/close the cover. Until I used this case, I didn't realize how useful that feature was.

Any suggestions for an iPad 3 screen protector?

Even though the cover is shown in the picture, this is just the hard back case that WORKS with the Smart cover. http://www.amazon.com/Incipio-IPAD-...alight/dp/B007JGBF2K/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

iSkin makes flexible cases for just the back of the iPad so you can still use the Apple Smart Cover. It has the holes so you can use the camera features.

I have an entirely different type of iPad case, but iSkin is our go-to site for iPhone and iPod cases - we've been customers for about 8 years and have purchased quite a few of their cases.

Just this afternoon I put a case on my iPad 2 and really, really like it. It is designed to work with the smart cover. It's called the SmartFit2 from thejoyfactory and I got from buy.com for $7.99 including shipping, and it came three days after I ordered it.
