Hello folks,
This my first time posting on these boards. My wife and I visited both Universal parks in July 2006.
Regarding "getting wet" at IOA, here are my thoughts and suggestions:
1) The wettest ride is the Popeye/Bluto Barges ride. Be careful that water rushes in through the side holes of the barge in addition to coming from above. Your feet and lower-leg areas will get drenched as well so you are best off wearing sandals or water shoes.
2) I like how the Barges ride and the Ripsaw Falls ride use "clean" water (i.e. water typically found in a swimming pool) instead of the "mystery green water" which other rides like Jurassic Park and Splash Mountain use.
3) Finally, if you need to get even more wet, when I was at IOA in July 2006 they had fountains throughout the Toon area spewing even more water to drench you.
I remember walking around IOA later that morning, and this woman took one look at me and asked me which rides I had experienced, i.e. she wanted her family to avoid getting drenched until later in the day.
