so, we are flying out tomorrow -early to WDW. I just heard about the invictus games being at WWOS. Prince Harry among other celebrities will be participating. Do you think this will impact the parks at all? I worry that these celebrities will come to the parks and affect crowds etc?

if the celebrities come to the parks to tour, they will be guided and it will be kept on the down low. You may not even know they are there. If they are brought to the parks to record promos or interviews, there might be some impact.

If the celebrities come to the parks in their off time you aren't going to see most of them nor do I think it will affect crowds.

What may or may not affect the crowds is the 500 athletes and their families. This is still a very small group so I don't think you'll see crazy jumps simply because there aren't a ton of people coming in. For reference a runDisney event has over 10,000 participants per an event on top of their family and friends. If there is an impact it will be mostly locals but nothing too major.

Prince Harry is already here, my friend is working the event and got a pic of him, the first lady will be here Sunday for the opening ceremonies.
I expect traffic will be a problem around Osceola Pkwy and Victory Way. I would recommend everyone to try and avoid that area, until after 3pm

I was in disneyland the same day the Kardashians were there throwing the kid a birthday party. Had no idea they were even there until after, it luckily had no effect.

Great! That's what I was hoping to hear. We're staying at POFQ, and will be using the busses, so no worries about traffic. Thanks!

I really don't see this affecting crowds at all at Disney

Numbers wise, it's really no difference than any other small to medium convention that takes place on property on a daily basis. WWoS hosts different tournaments and events all the time, and most of them don't register as more than a blip on park attendance.

I couldn't care less about him, but indeed Prince Harry is at some WDW spots.

Won't affect crowds at all. But if you are at WDW, you might spot him

Check news and rumors, there has been parades and things in the park for them. Its not bad at epcot today and its a saturday with the quick drop in temp and humidity.

Were heading to the opening ceremony now.
