Introducing Amy to "Walt's World" *Updated twice 1/21 Last installments*

Glad your TR is started! Aside from a few hiccups, it sounds like its going well so far.

Im so glad you are back & started your trip report! I cant wait to hear about your dining reviews to see if I want to change any of mine..LOL! Cant wait to read the next installment!!!:cool1:

Yay!

I'm so happy that you started your TR!

OUCH! The finger incident sounds very painful.

I am kinda like Amy with my packing. I pack so much stuff because i just can't bear the thought of being without something I need! Fortunately, though, my DH is a very minimalist packer, so checks and carries one of my suitcases for me every time!

I am happy to read that they have hair dryers in the rooms a pop century. I read somewhere that they are available "upon request" and I thought they might run out since we're going at such a busy time.

Bummer about the non-M.E. bus.

I hope check-in wasn't too painful!

Hi!! You are so close to your trip, I hope you have a blast!! I was fight back tears, my finger was throbbing. We have always had a king room that had a hair dryer, but I think if they had them in the kings they would have them in all of them. It really aggravated me that is was not an ME bus :rotfl:.

Wooohooo it's started :yay:

Glad you arrived safely and boo on the non ME bus!

Hi Jo!! Congrats on the Mom's Panel, you must be so excited!! Thanks for reading along.

Ouch to the finger!
Looking forward to more!
ETA-Nice sneakers, Bill!

Hi Hedy!! Thanks for posting, Bill says thank you.

Yay!! You started - I can't wait to hear more!!

Hi Amy! More coming right up!

So glad that you started!

The nail break sounds painful! :scared:

Hi Lessa!! I have never broken a nail like that, it was bad :headache:.

Yikes!!

I am sorry you got hurt before you even got on the plane!!!!

I am so glad you have started!!!!!!!!

:) Yeah!

Hi Mary!! Aww thank you, it's was ok, it hurt for about an hour then calmed down. Thanks for reading.

Well we already have something in common from our trips. I (painfully) ripped almost every one of my finger nails off from the night before we left until about 3 days into the trip.

I started my TR....link in siggie.

Hi Heidi!! OMG I am so sorry to hear about your finger nails, I am not going to complain about one, that sounds awful. I have been reading your TR, I posted a couple of times, it is a great one. Liam is adorable, congrats on the new baby .

Glad your TR is started! Aside from a few hiccups, it sounds like its going well so far.
Oh it was more than a few hiccups, it was constant for a couple of hours and poor Bill would say "ow" on the really hard ones.

Im so glad you are back & started your trip report! I cant wait to hear about your dining reviews to see if I want to change any of mine..LOL! Cant wait to read the next installment!!!:cool1:

Hi Tink! Thanks for reading, next installment coming up this evening.

Wooohooo babe! It has begun!

Guess where I'm staying over spring break???

POP!!! :woohoo:

Can't wait for the deets!

POP!!! :woohoo:

Hello G-luv!! We really liked Pop, we have stayed in the 60's, 50's, and 70's and like all the areas. I hope you have a great time there.

Remember “plans” in green, reality in blue.

Sat. Oct. 18th: We will check in to Pop, get something to eat, hopefully the room will be ready, go freshen up and explore the resort a little. I figured we would do that then because we are gong to be a little busy for the next 9 days. Then Amy will get her first ride on one of these babies:

063.jpg

Where would we take a newbie on her first night in WDW?? Magic Kingdom of course, of course. There were a couple of worries – she will see Spectro, Wishes, and eat at Tony’s the first night. What if everything else is a bit of a let down after that firework and parade fun filled fantastic evening?? I have decided to set those fears aside and focus on the reasons why MK would be a good choice for the first night. She will get to see Spectro and Wishes; I suspect we will both be weepy. When people who have never been to Disney World think of it, Magic Kingdom is usually the first thing that comes to mind. We just wanted to take her to the most magical park on her first magical day.

Sat. Oct. 18th: Ahhh Pop Century, our home for the next 9 nights!! It seemed to take forever for the driver to get Bill off the bus. I was on a high, you know that feeling when you first get there, all your hopes, plans, and dreams ahead of you, feeling giddy, just breathing in that glorious Florida air.
Amy seemed to like the theming, she started taking pics. I did too:

It didn’t take long to get up to the front of the line, then we met Suzie_doesn’t_know_much, or Suzie for short. She seemed nervous, worried, distracted. It totally stumped her when the computer told her the handicap accessible room was “locked”. She thought there was a problem, there wasn’t. The room is “locked” by Special Services so it is not accidently given to another guest.

She went to the back, came out and was a little calmer. She kept apologizing for how long it was taking. I kept smiling, telling her it was ok, I understood. I had a list of questions for her.

1. Could we get the park hopper tickets we had bought for Amy at AAA on her room key?
2. Could I get a first timer and a birthday button for Amy here at Pop?
3. Could we each put a credit card on the rooms since we had two rooms, but one reservation?
4. Could I get a print out of our ADR’s?
5. Can I pick up our Spirit of Aloha tickets?

So Suzy says:

Yes to #1, we could get the tickets put on her room key, but Concierge would have to do it.

Yes to #2, she handed the buttons over to us.

Yes to #3, we could do the credit card thing, but we would have one set of Keys to the Word for Amy’s room with her tickets, the dining for all of us, and her CC# on it and the other set of Keys to the World with our CC# and our room key. Confusing but workable.

Yes to #4 Concierge could do the printout along with #5 the Spirit of Aloha tickets.

I also picked up some Disney Dollars. We were having an Ip-Dip meet and I wanted a little something for the kids that came.

Suzie kept trying to offer us a fridge for the room, I kept explaining to her it already had one. She kept saying no, they are not standard in the room. I finally said, we have been here twice within a year, the HA rooms have a fridge already in the entertainment center. She tried to argue with me again, until I finally said “if there isn’t one in the room I will call for one” that finally got her to be quiet. (I was right btw, there was one in the room.)We went to concierge, took care of all that stuff and got out of the lobby.

Our room was ready!! We went there, dumped our carry on stuff, called for a shower bench, Amy seemed to like her room, decorated the windows, and Amy changed into the Lady and the Tramp shirt I made her:

WDW10-08030.jpg

We got connecting rooms. Our room:

WDW10-08029.jpg

Amy’s room:

WDW10-08031.jpg

Then there was a knock on Amy’s door. She opened it and we heard her say something like “they aren’t for me”. Bill had ordered flowers for me again. Here they are, ignore the weird smile on my face (and the flabby arm fat, one of the issues with losing weight - sagging fat/skin, sorry that was probably TMI wasn't it?):

WDW10-08032.jpg

I got some things in the room settled, then we went to Everything Pop to eat!! I will warn you now, I was a horrible food porn picture taker this trip. I forgot half the time, but I will share what I remembered to take. Yes, I know you are ashamed of me, I am ashamed of myself. I was a horrible TR writer this trip, didn’t take many notes either.

Amy got a cheeseburger and fries with a cheesecake for her dessert:

WDW10-08038.jpg

WDW10-08039.jpg

Bill got chicken strips and fries and carrot cake:

WDW10-08036.jpg

WDW10-08035.jpg

I got a fruit cup:

It was time to leave Pop Century and head to a park!

Next installment… Where did we go? Did I stick to the “plan”?

Of couuuurse you stuck with the plan!

Who in their right mind would NOT go to MK on the first night?

Not I!

Beautiful pics of you Tracy!

I need to put my husband in touch with Bill for some lessons on how to treat your wife!!!!!! :rotfl: You've got a real gem there!
Debsx

Woo hoo! I'm happy to have another Tracy and Bill adventure to read about! Sounds like a good start. Disney should have a self check in for people like you who pretty much know more than the CMs!!:lmao: You should have told Suzie to move over and let you do it yourself!! I look forward to reading more!:thumbsup2

Amy's burger and fries is making me hungry! Liam would fight you for your fruit cup....he ate a lot of those on our trip.

Yeah! Tracy, Bill, Amy, and the trip report are back! Can't wait to hear about your adventures!

I was beginning to have Disney withdrawal, so I'll happily live through your stories!

Sorry about the bus. But whatever gets you to Disney, right?

Ack! BF thinks going to WDW every year may take away some of the magic! He may be hinting heavily, but I"m choosing to ignore him! I need to look forward to something---and that's my October trip! I may have to be a rebel and go without him!

Can't wait for next installment! Hello and big hugs to all of you!

I'm so glad you started your report Tracy - I just love your reports!

How sweet of Bill to send you flowers. He's definitely a keeper!

Love all the pictures of POP - makes me want to be there right now!

I am still so bummed that we didn't get to meet - we were so close! I am positive there will be a next time in our future - and we WILL meet! :flower3:

Hello! I stuck to the plan, that day. I have not been in my right mind on some trips and have just done DTD the first night. Thanks, I wouldn't go far as beautiful, but I feel I am looking better than last year.

I love the pics so far! The flowers are so pretty!

I thought they were very pretty too.

Awww...the flowers are so sweet. Bill is wonderful!

Hi Monica!! Did you see they are going to have an online check in? You typed it and then it happened. Spooky :rotfl:!!

Hello. You just have to show your BF that there are many, many things to do at WDW. It will not take away the magic. This past trip was Bill's 11th, and it was my 6th trip since Feb. 2006.

:flower3:

I can't believe you were in the 50's building too. We were so close. I just got caught up on your TR, Sam is beautiful.

Oh, I forgot to add that you look fantastic!

Thank you very much.

After we ate it was time to head to:

WDW10-08040.jpg

We walked up at the perfect time for a bus. I loved the fall/Halloween decorations:

WDW10-08043.jpg

WDW10-08044.jpg

We ran into Chip and Dale, I think Amy might have a picture of this encounter, I don’t have any, no photopass photographer, the character handler did it. While we were in line waiting for our turn, one of the character handlers spotted Amy’s birthday button and said she was giving her a present right there. She would tell Amy Happy Birthday in 5 different languages of Amy’s choice. It was great to hear her do that.

We got in Magic Kingdom and Bill and I couldn’t stop smiling at each other, it was wonderful!! Here is our first look at the castle:

WDW10-08047.jpg

I had planned to go to Tomorrowland and knock out all the “goals” there, but decided to ask Amy what she would like to do and she said Pirates of the Caribbean, so we headed off to:

WDW10-08052.jpg

We winded through the crowd and before you know it we saw this:

WDW10-08054.jpg

Bill had to transfer to a manual chair, they had us go out and to the left through a back way so we essential had a walk on. I picked Bill up, Amy got into the boat and put his cushion in the seat, I handed him off, she got him seated, and then I got in the boat. We must have been a sight to see :rotfl: .

This is the first time I had been on it and Bill hasn’t been on it in years. Captain Jack looks very life like, it is amazing. Then before we knew it, it was over. Where to next?

WDW10-08057.jpg

We went to the wheelchair accessible area and were told it would be about 10 minutes. Woohoo we were on a ride roll!! The boat came up:

WDW10-08064.jpg

It was time for Bill to board, click on the picture below to see video of how he loads into the boat:

We had a great skipper for our cruise, Shout out to Skipper Tim!! He was funny!

Here are some pictures from our long Jungle Cruise:

WDW10-08066.jpg

WDW10-08067.jpg

WDW10-08078.jpg

Is Amy enjoying the cruise? I am not sure, you be the judge:

WDW10-08083.jpg

After our refreshing cruise it was time to head to:

WDW10-08093.jpg

for dinner. Amy was in Lady and the Tramp heaven. They had all sorts of things in the store. Hopefully she will post pics of some of the stuff she bought later in the night.

We got seated and this was on the table:

WDW10-08089.jpg

Happy Birthday Amy!! This is where she got freaked out a bit, they were really celebrating things there that night and doing the “everyone please help me wish (blank) Happy Birthday!!” Amy said if they tried that with her she would run out of the restaurant, boy she is NO fun!! We informed the waitress not to try any funny stuff or Amy would bolt.

Here is Amy perusing the menu and trying to take a pic of Lady and the Tramp so I took a pic of her:

WDW10-08090.jpg

OMG I only took one food picture the entire meal, here is the cheesecake:

WDW10-08094.jpg

Pretty, isn’t it?

During the whole meal I had been text messaging with Jodi aka Jodster. The waitress was S L O W. We were supposed to meet up with Jodi and her family for SpectroMagic and Wishes, but the clock kept ticking and I didn’t think we would make it at all. I told Jodi to just find a spot without us, we would try to find them if we every got out of there.

We finally got the bill taken care of and it was sprinkling. I contacted Jodi again and she was by the confectionary in front of a cart. Our first Enchanted meet woohoo!! Did I take any pictures, NO (say it with me “you Ip-Dip”).

Her husband was very nice, her kids are beautiful, and Jodi was just as fantastic as I imagined she would be. It was not like meeting a stranger at all. They were so sweet and had a place so Bill could move up and see the parade better, that is until a lady kept trying to get right in front of him. It was a very good time. The girls were tired and they decided to head back to their hotel.

We were supposed to watch Wishes and head back to the hotel too, but Bill wanted to watch Spectro again from the handicap accessible location in Liberty Square. We didn’t get a good spot for Wishes, it was packed, but I loved it nonetheless. It always gives me goose bumps.

Then we headed to Liberty Square for our parade spot. We loved it as usual, it is my favorite parade. Here are pictures from our evening:

WDW10-08101.jpg

WDW10-08102.jpg

WDW10-08103.jpg

I just love looking at the castle at night, I never get tired of it:

WDW10-08132.jpg

Main Street USA is so pretty all lit up:

WDW10-08133.jpg

Bill introduced himself to Roy and Minnie while Amy went to the Exposition Hall to buy Lady and the Tramp stuff:

WDW10-08135.jpg

We finally left Magic Kingdom, I had been texting with Scott, he had decided to try to bus hop from MK to Pop right after SpectroMagic Parade or Wishes I am not sure rotf. He was not happy with the bus situation. We didn’t have a wait at all when we got to the busses. Scott met us at Everything Pop, again no Enchanted meet pics. I am the biggest IP-DIP of them all. Scott and I talked and talked and Bill and Amy checked out the store.

Scott walked us to our rooms, Amy hung back at a smoking area and I was NOT happy when I turned down the walk way to our room. The luggage guys usually will flip the safety lock thingy back so they can get into the room when they are bringing in a lot of luggage. A normal person would make sure that they locked the door when they left, but NO I could see the lock thing flipped and I just opened Amy’s door. I was livid. There was our luggage and Amy’s laptop on the bed that could have been stolen very easily. Scott said goodnight knowing I was going to be making a phone call.
I said bye and was immediately on the phone, talked to the front desk and there were very upset that that had happened and apologized over and over again. Amy came in, we told her, nothing was missing so we unpacked and fell into bed, we had only been up since 4:30am.

Next installment… do we make Ip-Dip rope drop?
