Introducing Amy to "Walt's World" *Updated twice 1/21 Last installments*

[By the time we got off the safari the parade was about to make it’s way back through so we decided to watch it. See I can go off my plans, can’t I? Bill and I got a spot, Amy went to go smoke and we started seeing this:

WDW10-08333.jpg

Again the people and characters are drawn to Bill, he has them mesmerized:

People tend to shy away from Bill here in “real life”, but in Disney they seek him out, talk to him, include him. It gets me all teary eyed just typing that (cry). It is one of the reasons I love WDW. He says he feels “normal” there and I am so very thankful for that.

Tracy,

I have been a lurker on all of your reports but I have to say this brought me out for a response. I teared up looking at these pictures of the character interaction with Bill. Disney really is such a special place!

Going way back in your report I have to comment on all the pics from the Smokey Mountains...we live about 45 away from the mountains and it truely is one of my favorite things about East TN.

All caught up here again Tracy! Great updates as usual!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the Keys to the Kingdom tour. We did it about 10 years or so ago and I'd love to do it again someday. I think I'll have to wait until Sam is 16 so I can take her with me!

Isn't MNSSHP the best! You got so much accomplished! Did you see the headless horseman? I just loved that part!

Sorry you had to witness crazy kitty lady. We had a parent show up to a party at Samantha's school in a similar costume - totally inappropriate for a kid's party! Yikes!

Love the video of Cruella! That is just great! :rotfl:

I just finished reading.
One of the things that is amazing to me is that there is so much to do at MNSSHP. When it started, it seemed like we would have so much time and all of a sudden, it was time to leave.
Love your pictures.

Sorry about cat lady. We saw something I think was worse though - diaper man. A 50-60 yr old man wearing an adult diaper (with nothing underneath or on top of it).:scared1:
He was with an older woman and 2 teen looking girls (I think his DD's). One was dressed as a naughty nurse and the other as a naughty maid (in the Playboy type of naughty). Very un-appealing and very inappropriate for a family destination.

:rotfl2: You just cracked me up. I will try to do an update tomorrow. We are leaving for Indiana on Saturday to go to Bill's parents, then on Monday we are all driving to the "log home" (can't call it a cabin or Bill's mom gets miffed :rotfl: ) in Pigeon Forge, TN. We won't be back home until the 29th :scared1:.

Oooh! The log home! Since I lurk, I have totally seen the pictures of it! ;) So beautiful. I kind of hope they never sell it because how amazing to go there for holidays. Like, it's a Christmas TV special. But, um, maybe you don't want to go there every holiday? Even if it does look like a Christmas TV show?

I totally want to go to Pigeon Forge. I know, weird, right? But I love Dolly Parton and my BFF and I keep talking about going there because neither of our husbands will ever go with us. We want to do Dollywood and the Dixie Stampede and see the Smoky Mountains...this is the trip we are planning. Now, granted, we did go to WDW last January. So it's not like we haven't done Disney together. But next time? Pidgeon Forge, baby! :thumbsup2

Have a great trip! It's a super long time to be away, huh? Does your baby come with you? They are dog-friendly, right?

The tour sounds great, I did a tour last week which sounded a bit similar although we didn't go down in to the utilidors.

Fantastic party photos, my girls would love to see all the dwarfs :goodvibes

Hi Jo!! Oh I think your tour was a bit more magical, you got to see the Castle Suite . The dwarfs were great!!

I am so happy you posted, I am loving your TR!! I get teary eyed at every parade, it is wonderful how the characters interact with Bill, they sometimes give me a lot of attention too, I eat it up just like Bill :rotfl:. We loved our trip to the Smokey Mountains, we will be there Monday late afternoon until the 28th.

Hi! I can't say it enough, we LOVED that tour!! Bill and I are thinking about going down for a weekend just to do another MNSSHP, we loved it. We saw the headless horseman, it was great.

Many people were saying loudly how inappropriate kitty cat was :sad2:. Cruella was fantastic!!

I just finished reading.

Hi Sue!! Thanks for reading. OMG about the diaper man, that is awful!

Oooh! The log home! Since I lurk, I have totally seen the pictures of it! ;) So beautiful. I kind of hope they never sell it because how amazing to go there for holidays. Hello! I can't wait to see how Bill's Mom has decorated the "log home" for Christmas, she is really great at decorating. I wouldn't mind going there every Christmas, as long as Bill's Dad drives.

It is not weird to want to go to Pigeon Forge, we thought it was gorgeous. Bill's Mom wants to take us to Dollywood next week if it isn't freezing. She wants to take us to all their Christmas stuff. I have already emailed with their guest services about wheelchair accessibility.

Ace doesn't go with us, his parents are dog friendly but his Mom isn't Ace dog hair friendly. He is a shedding machine.

Hi Tracy! Just getting caught up on my TRs/PTRs. We were without power for a week here due to a big ice storm. We finally got power back Thursday night and were hit with a foot of snow Friday night. Followed by ANOTHER foot of snow yesterday! Winter has come early and it's not a good one. I'm so glad to have a trip planned in April. It will be the light at the end of the LONG winter tunnel. I hope to get into full OTP mode after the holidays.

Your updates are great - you have amazing pictures - from the animals at AK to the character meets at MNSSHP. Sorry you had to run into cat lady. Don't people get that it's a family place??? :confused3 I'm glad I didn't see anyone like her or diaper man when we were there last year. That would have definitely turned me off.

Can't wait to read more!

Hey Tracy!!!! it has been a while and I am all caught up on your TR. I am so proud og you for going on EE and I love you face in the picture! I can't wait to see how the rest of your trip went.

Hi Amy!! Thank you for reading along. I swear I am still shaking my head over the cat lady :rotfl:.

Hell IndianaHoosier!! Happy New year! We had a good holiday!

Reminding everyone once again, green means planned, blue means what actually happened.

Oct. 22nd: Animal Kingdom Day 2

We are headed back to Africa and Asia this day. For those of you counting this is day 5 and we have been to every park but Disney Hollywood Studios. I think I am avoiding DHS because Bill and I spend a ton of time here, we have been to Super Soap Weekend twice and this past June we were at Star Wars Weekend. We will get there, in a couple more days.
Goals for this day:
Safari, EE (or both if we/Amy want to do it again)
Character Trails (if they weren’t done the last time)
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Devine (if we didn’t find her the last time)
Dinoland
Acrobats
4pm Parade (if we are still in the park)

This day was “planned” to go back to Animal Kingdom and finish up there. I was asked when we were going to go to DHS, I was ganged up on actually :haha:. Bill was dying to get on Toy Story Mania and Amy wanted to try Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Roller Coaster. Bill wanted to eat at 50’s Prime Time Café, we couldn’t move the time on the day we had it originally scheduled so we scheduled it for lunch this day and I had to make a different reservation for Oct. 24th.

The only issue with trying to do Toy Story Mania was we were all dead tired. We slept in and didn’t even leave Pop until around noon. OMG I know, I was dying, we are burning daylight doing nothing, I swear I was about to have a coronary. I had to remind myself I wasn’t the only one on the trip.

We got to the bus station and saw this:

WDW10-08trip001.jpg

It was a little busy by the time we got there:

WDW10-08trip002.jpg

I just love the streetmosphere (sp) people, but we didn’t have time to watch:

WDW10-08trip003.jpg

I went to check in at 50’s, Amy went to smoke. The wait wasn’t that long and we had a great “Aunt”, her name was Elaine, (I think). Here is Amy checking out the menu:

WDW10-08trip010.jpg

Look Carrie, chickens:

WDW10-08trip011.jpg

WDW10-08trip012.jpg

Ohh alcohol with a glow cube:

WDW10-08trip013.jpg

Here is my Chicken Caesar Salad, with no dressing, I pushed the croutons off to the side.

WDW10-08trip014.jpg

I had the Angel Food Cake again:

WDW10-08trip016.jpg

Again I cut up Bill’s food before I thought about taking a picture and I have no idea about Amy’s food, she might have taken a picture, but I don’t have any pictures from her.

Toy Story Mania’s fast passes were too late for us. The Little Mermaid’s timing was off for us, so we went to:

WDW10-08trip020.jpg

Bill and I had never been here, we were waiting for the next show and Amy went around taking pictures of the pictures in the queue lines, they opened up the accessible side and I had to call for her. She went to step over the chain and almost tripped herself, she got the head shaking look from the CM. The show was cute. After that we walked through the building and I took many pictures:

We ended up seeing Sorcerer Mickey:

Then he met Amy:

WDW10-08trip040.jpg

Poor Wall*E was all by himself:

WDW10-08trip043.jpg

On the way out they had so many different pictures from Snow White, I went crazy taking pictures. Can anyone tell me why I do this? Why do I go picture crazy?

WDW10-08trip049.jpg

In their dump shop I bought this:

WDW10-08trip176.jpg

My goal is to turn the spare bedroom into a Disney office, I am collecting things little by little.

We wanted to catch the last Lights, Motors, Action show of the day. We started walking that way, but knew we had a little time so went to Muppets 3D.

WDW10-08trip067.jpg

We walked to LMA and got right in, Amy seemed to enjoy the show. I really enjoyed the 7 year old boy in a wheelchair that was next to us. He was so happy when he saw Herbie, he was moving around so much in the chair and clapping, it was so heartwarming to see.

We decided to walk over to Tower of Terror and go through the queue with Amy before we had to catch a bus to the Polynesian Resort. It was a walk on. When we got in the room with the TV I decided I would do it. Heck I did EE how bad could TOT be? Bill went all the way through with us then out the exit. We were in the back row, I asked Amy if I could be next to the wall.

OMG I LOVED IT!! It was great! Amy wanted to get some souvenirs so we said we would meet her up front, they took a long time to check her out and we thought we had missed her somewhere. I was stressing out about the time. We finally found her and got on a bus to the Poly. We were going there for the Spirit of Aloha show. I can’t believe I didn’t take one picture here, not one. Amy got one of those drinks in the coconut. We enjoyed the show, I think Amy was a bit tired.

It took a while to get on a bus, they are always slow after the show. We got on the bus going to Downtown Disney and the driver asked where we were going to end up, I said we were transferring busses to Pop. He said “let me see what I can do”.

Then he announced that anyone going to Pop should just stay on the bus, we were going to DTD first then Pop :yay: . It was very nice of him. We were all still tired so that made our day.

Next installment…is the plan back on track or is it thrown out the window?

Great update! YAY for you loving TOT! That is my favorite ride although DH does not feel the same way but will go on it just for me. Look at you trying EE and TOT!

How was your Christmas and New Years?

Sounds like you are all getting tired by this point in the trip.

What did you think of the show at the Poly?

Phew - I'm finally all caught up Tracy! Great updates! The tour sounds fantastic - I really hope to do that someday. Your guide looks so happy with his job! :goodvibes

The party installment was great! We loved MNSSHP too, but we missed the villains show. That Cruella was great! What a funny idea you guys had, bringing the flat doggies! :rotfl:

OMG we saw a few inappropriate costumes as well on our night. What are people thinking anyways? It's like they forget they are still at a family park - they need to just go on over to Universal's "scary" party!

Loved the Studios update too! I've never tried 50's PTC but it's on my list to try. That's great that you mustered up the nerve for ToT - I still haven't tried that one! :rolleyes1

Hope you had a great holiday! :)

Sara

I'm so excited that you went on ToT!! It's one of our family's favorite rides. Zachary is even talking about how he won't be scared of it next time we go (which will be sooner than he knows...).

I saw....Thanks for doing that:)

You are very welcome!!

Great update! YAY for you loving TOT! That is my favorite ride although DH does not feel the same way but will go on it just for me. Look at you trying EE and TOT!

How was your Christmas and New Years?

Hi!! I really did love it, I am kicking myself for not trying these rides earlier. You will see that I tried more rides during the trip.

Christmas was great. I am going to do a little TR about it on Enchanted in the non Disney section. New Years was very quiet, we just went out for a late lunch and stayed home that night.

Sounds like you are all getting tired by this point in the trip.

What did you think of the show at the Poly?

I was getting tired of some attitude we were receiving actually. I like to be a little early or at least on time for things and I was meeting resistance. I learned to stay the ADR's were a little earlier than they actually were.

We enjoyed the show at the Poly, it is the 2nd time we have done it. I wish I had taken some pictures, but someone in our party was just grouchy and it affected the entire evening.

Hello!! I can't even explain how much we loved that tour and Matthew. I hope we see him the next time we are in MK.

We are talking about taking a mini trip in the fall just to go to another MNSSHP, I really loved Cruella! I don't get why people would want to dress inappropriately at Disney :sad2:.

50's is one of Bill's top 3 favorite restaurants at Disney. Oh, you have to try TOT at least once. Feeling weightless for a moment was fantastic :rotfl:. Amy said she didn't want to go back on it because it didn't last that long?? I think she just didn't like it, because she rode RNRC about 10 times.

I'm so excited that you went on ToT!! It's one of our family's favorite rides. Zachary is even talking about how he won't be scared of it next time we go (which will be sooner than he knows...).

Hi Amy!! He will be so happy!!! I want to go on it again and EE, but won't do it unless we have someone with us. I am not a single rider kinda person.

Sounds like someone should have gone back to POP by themself for the evening! Sorry to hear about the attitude, I know how much planning and thought you put into this vacation.

I keep meaning to PM you becauase I don't know how to get into the new Enchanted site with my old user name. :confused3
