Our trip was originally planned back in July for this past week. When Ivan roared through, I thought the worst was behind us - especially since on my day of departure Jeanne looked like nothing more than a light breeze (guess she changed her mind!). So we ended up with five lovely days in between Ivan and Jeanne - Ivan's "ghost" caught up with us on Monday and Tuesday and things started clouding up on Friday but other than that...no complaints!
We spent two days in MK, one in Epcot and one in MGM. My son (who is now four - as of today!!) had a great time. This was his third trip to WDW but the first that really registered with him. He requested the carousel, the teacups, Dumbo and a couple other rides - his first ever specific World requests. He also got to be a monorail co-pilot on two occasions, which thrilled all of us to no end (this is maybe my 20th trip and I've never had that opportunity). My daughter, all of 8 months, seemed a little overwhelmed by the lights, color and noise but she really enjoyed the characters. Especially Minnie, whose special interaction with her I commemorated by buying her her first Disney toy, a stuffed Minnie doll which has already become a favorite.
My son loved dinner at the Japanese Steak House (what he calls the "chop 'em up, cook 'em up place") and "lunch" (really, a late breakfast) at Chef Mickey's. Other meals were catch-as-catch-can - the Land and others.
We had such a nice time and were so enthusiastic upon our return that my husband (who couldn't go with us this time) felt AWFUL and left out so he has taken it upon himself to start planning a trip for all of us for next fall. Whatta guy!
