Hey everyone.:wave2: I just have a quick question: Is there a holiday markup for intimate weddings? I know there is for customs. The reason being b/c I would like to have my intimate wedding the day after Thanksgiving (Friday at Seabreeze Point), or even the day before.
I like this time b/c I am a teacher and would only have to take two days off, compared to holding my wedding during a school break, when we know how crowded the parks will be :scared: My nephews-to-be also won't have to miss as much school and our guests (our immediate fams) would not have to take as much time off from work. I also see that this is a regular time for hotel rates, compared to peak time when the school breaks are (President's week, Easter week, Christmas, etc...).
Thanks :)

I can't help with the cost question. I just wanted to let you know that is has been my experience that Thanksgiving weekend is crowded. If part of your decision is based on the crowds, you might want to switch your date. One suggestion is over spring break. Every school gives the same days off for Thanksgiving, whereas spring break varies from school to school. You have less of a chance of it being over crowded. Also, mid-late summer isn't too bad for crowds, but it is very hot. Hope this info helps a little.

Thanks, I'll have to look into Spring break. I am actually interviewing for teaching jobs in Tampa in June, so not sure when Spring break is for FL (here in NY it is the week b/f Easter). April is also my b-day month. :scratchin

What Ive noticed with most traveling/vacation dates is that usually the week right after a holiday is lite.

I say if you go around thanksgiving, try to definitely do the days right after it & maybe come home mid week, so you dont miss the whole week.

I would hope that employers/schools would not give you a hard time if your taking time off for your wedding.....its not like your going to vegas to gamble!!

I would honestly look at a date YOU want & if you give them advance notice, they should be able to problem solve with you so you can take this time off!

Good luck & I hope you are able to get your date & time off for your DFTW:goodvibes
