Intimate wedding certificate?

I haven't framed mine yet 'cause I'm just not sure of the best option.

Hiwaygal - You could buy a frame at Michael's or Aaron Brothers (if they have those where you live) or have it done professionally, but just be sure the glass is UV coated and the mat is acid-free (all the way through! Aaron Bros says their mats are acid free, but it's only the coating on the paper).

...Regarding the discontinuation of the DFTW certificates, it makes me cranky that every year prices go up but what you get for your money goes down! :headache:

By the time I get married, an Intimate/Escape wedding will prolly be $8,000 for a drive-thru ceremony at a booth in the parking lot! :lmao:

Dang-- I just looked and it doesnt state that under my Exhibit A. But Tiffany wasnt your wedding after mine? This really stinks--:sad2: and to think that I essentially paid for it.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I've been in class all day (without wireless Internet)

They're really nice certificates.

Thanks for following up with Tanis, Maggie...I thought I remembered it being in my contract. I'm going to check when I get home. But I guess it seems like they don't have them anymore regardless.

These certificates that were presented....they were in addition to the gift that is presented, right? (I'm not sure if we're supposed to say what that gift is, I believe at one point the girls on the board wanted it to be a surprise)

I'm just really following up because DH loves stuff like this. You should see the Disney things he has framed etc.....so he would absolutely have loved it.

Yes, it was in addition to the super-secret-surprise gift ;) I wonder why they discontinued them? I mean, they're just paper, nice paper but still, it could not possibly have cost much to produce them? Sorry they're not available anymore :guilty:

I agree with your comment...when we got married in 97 it included rooms, passes, flowers, officiant, cake, violinist & dinner
it didnt include photo/video, transportation.

I liked the package better back then....now its slim pickins;)

If you don't mind me asking, about how much was it in 1997? And did you have to stay at a certain level of resort? We stayed at WL and that was pricey, about $1800. The wedding, with all of my extras (custom cake, extra floral, bottle of cider, chocolate favors) was "only" about $2700.

In 2005 it included location, flowers, officiant, cake, violinist, champagne, and the taking of the pictures (I got 12 shots, chosen by Disney, in a beautiful album and the lo-resolution CD). Also the secret gift and the wedding certificate.

Its amazing how things change and prices increase:sad2:

It was about $2300 & we got 4 nights at WL (we could choose from some other "deluxe" resorts, 4 days of passes, ceremony, flowers, violinist, cake, champaigne, dinner at a choice of restaurants(we did Yachtmans Steakhouse) & we got the special gift.
We had to pay extra for my hair, his tux, dress steaming, I added daisies into my flowers & for my mom & hubby, Transportation(we rented a car & my mom drove) and photo/video (we used Broadway & got photos & video with proofs for about $400).

I dont think the package is awful, but i liked the one way back in 1997 better....& I was able to book things right a tmy local disney store travel desk, when they existed.
Its sad that some things changed...like that they did away with Francks section of DFTW items for sale

Oh well...life goes on & at least we still have the mouse/castle, etc

Whew!

Sorry ladies...I'm back. Toronto just got hit with a winter storm and my evening class was cancelled. It took SOOOoooo long on the transit to get home.

Maggie....you're right (on all counts as usual :goodvibes ) I was January 4th 2007 so you were way before me. You know -- I think it was just a mistake by my WC. I'll follow up on it -- but I don't have many high hopes. They really don't seem to follow the contract terms like they should. They breached my contract time and time again. And didn't enforce some of its terms (like the outside vendor fees) -- I figure in the end it's kinda a wash

It would have been nice. And it does seem that less and less included (myprincessgirllisa -- wow! that's a lot of value for your money. I'm jealous that I couldn't get married in 1997. Of course I was 16 at the time and had I married the one I was with....well. He was a jerk. So Dh is worth the sacriface ;) )

JandJ -- thanks for letting me know. I just wondered but didn't want to come out and name the super-surprise-gift in case it was still a surprise ;)

I agree-- if I had gotten married in 1997--- well Id probobly be living in a van down by the river..... (<-- Chris Farley skit if you havent seen it!!)

Here's mine:

A couple of years ago, I saw a blank on Ebay. The real one, not one someone made. I didn't bid on it because I didn't want to go into a bidding war. I was going to log in that day and bid. I missed it, and have never seen one again. I look every once in a while.
