Ok, so I am wanting to surprise my DW with an intimate vow renewal at Disney. I'm not going to tell her until about a month before and only then so that she can get her dress altered. Long story short, we got married too soon and didn't have the wedding of her dreams, (or mine) and so for our 5th anniversary I want to do it right, but I have a couple of questions. I want to obviously have it on our wedding anniversary, but it's in early December and on a Friday so I can't book the Wedding Pavillion. Does anyone know how cold it would be if we had a mid-day or even early afternoon renewal outside? :confused3 And second, since we live so far away chances are we are going to be the only two people there. No best man or maid of honor. Do you know if there would be any disney person there to maybe blow bubbles for us during the recessional? The two main things that are important to us is location and photos. Anywhere at Disney will be PERFECT for location, but now I want the perfect photos to go with it, including the kiss, the recessional, etc. Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions!!!!

You are totally in the right place!! It sounds like you want an intimate. If you go to DisneyWeddings.com they will list the locations available for an intimate wedding, as well as what is offered. The day could be rainy or cold, it is December in Florida, you never know what will happen. The one thing you will want to talk about is inclement weather locations. I am sure Disney can arrange for you to have the recessional that you want!!! Just make sure that they know that that is important to you. With an intimate photography is included. You never know who you will get with Disney photography as you do not get to request a certain photographer. Therefore, alot of people use outside photographers. Use the search function on this forum and it will help you locate a few people to talk to since pictures are very important to you. Leif and I used Randy Chapman and recommend him very highly! Good Luck and let us know how it is going and how we can help!

How lucky is your wife to have such a wonderfully romantic husband.....WOW

I wish I had more info for you...I had an Intimate in 97....but I can tell you it will be incredible....an experience you'll both never forget.

PLease keep us updated...btw...i am doing a vow renewal the 1st week of december.....If you need a bubble blower:goodvibes let me know....my family would love to help out...it would be fun

Good luck best wishes congrats on the upcoming anniversary

Ok, so I am needing some MAJOR help here trying to decide where I want to have the vow renewal and everything. As previously stated, it doesn't look like we can have the location be the WP since our anniversary is on a Friday. What does everyone think; stick to the original date and choose an alternate location or move the date back one day so that we can have the WP? My second choice is the Sunset Pointe at the Poly. But I'm just really afraid of having an outdoor ceremony in case of rain. I think my DW and I could deal with the cold a little better knowing what we're getting for it, but rain is a WHOLE story in itself. What does everyone think? And for a photographer, I think I do like the idea of having Randy come in and do it, but does anyone know if he can do the morning after photoshoot at the MK? As I said, photos are the most important thing to me! :goodvibes

As for location:
I did Yacht Club Gazebo...its was neat...I had a light rain all day on & off, but we were under the Gazebo....it made the pictures look dramatic & we weren't squinting
I did it in december & it wasnt cold..but you can never tell with the weather

Pictures were fun cause we got to walk over to Boardwalk for photos & then we took a boat for more photos & got off at the dolphin & swan for more pics....we had so many options....we got some really great shots.

If you can Id try and keep it on the same date, unless your DW has expressed that she would have done ANYTHING to get married at the WP..then Id do a different date

Good luck:rotfl:

Hi! In order to do a photo shoot inside any of the parks you have to use a Disney photographer, so Randy won't be allowed in for your morning-after shoot :sad1: If you Google some historical weather data sites, you'll see that December in Florida has much less rainfall than most of the rest of the year. You'll be well out of hurricane season by then!

Hi there! I think it's wonderful that you want to do this for your wife!!

Dh and I had a similar story....we were married by a JOP and chose to use our VR as a way to do the whole ta-do LOL! We had our Intimate Vow Renewal this past November at Sea Breeze Point. It had been raining early that morning but stopped in time for our ceremony (3 p.m.). Our wedding coordinator told us since SBP has the gazebo they would only move the party inside if there was thunder or lightning. You might want to ask your wedding coordinator what the procedure is for Sunset Point....to help you make your decision.

As for what day to choose, it's really up to you. Our VR was on a different day than our anniversary (had to plan it around Dh's deployment/time-off) but we didn't mind because we really just wanted the ceremony LOL!

Disney will have a person helping you during the ceremony....in our case it was our wedding coordinator. There was also another employee there to help cut and serve the cake/champagne. I'm sure if you asked they would be willing to help with the bubble-blowing.

We used a Disney photographer, so I can't help with any advice about Randy though I think I've heard people say he is not allowed to do the Magic Kingdom shoot....only Disney photographers are allowed inside the parks for that. I can say we were very happy with our photos (from the ceremony...we did not do a MK shoot).

Congratulations!!

You've already gotten some great advice...so I don't have much to add.

My DH and I got married at Sea Breeze Point, and it was just the two of us. It was very special and ended up being just the way we wanted it to be...lighthearted and magical!

Talk to your coordinator, tell them what you are dreaming of and let them help you find a way to achieve it. In fact, I wouldn't necessarily just write off the Pavilion, if that is what you really want! I would wait 'til you get a coordinator (not the first person you talk to when you call) and then ask them if there is any way to get the Pavilion for your intimate on that Friday. It is possible that if there are no other weddings scheduled that day, you might get it!

Congratulations and good luck!!!

If you have your wedding at Disney, you can pay the extra money to have a Magic Kingdom photoshoot. That is just you and your bride in the MK before park hours. They pose you around the park in pre-selected areas. This would be in your wedding wear. The other option is an MK Honeymoon shoot. This is a less expensive option but is in park wear and comfortable shoes. Guests can and will be in your photos. Randy can take your pictures at all of the resorts outside of the park area. I personally would want to do the wedding on my anniversary. Disney does have rain out locations that you can discuss. If this is a huge issue maybe push it back a day. Also, try now to get chef's table. Expensive! But I hear the experience is Divine!!!

Awesome Idea !!!
I am highly considering surprising my husband for our 10 year. Glad to see someone else likes surprises! Good Luck!
