My DF and I are planning on having a mini-reception after the cake cutting. We would really like to go somewhere where I can keep my dress on. I would love it if someone would share their experiences or suggestions. Thanks!

You can dine in any of the resort restaurants and keep your wedding attire on! Depending on where you are getting married, you can try Citrico's in GF or Victoria and Albert's...
We chose the Yachtsman Steakhouse after our wedding and had an outstanding meal and were treated wonderfully!

Even in places like Ohana, Boma, etc that have open eating areas without private dining rooms? Just asking, I would think we would look a little silly all gussied up in one of those places but you've definitely sparked my curiousity

There have been other intimate brides that have dined at Ohanas after their intimate. Most restaurants will have you in the open dining room, like California Grill and Narcoosees. As long as it's not in one of the parks it will be fine. Don't forget about the options at the Swan and Dolphin too, they have some really nice places.

we went to chef mickeys after our intimate, i thought beforehand that it may look a bit out of place, but on the day we didnt care, we wanted to see mickey as much as the kids in the place!!!

Oh that is so cute!! Maybe we will consider eating with everyone in the open after all. I know I would think it was cute to see a wedding party if I were eating there. If you don't mind me asking how many people did you have and how much per person? Thanks!

We had dinner at Narcoossee's after our intimate wedding. It was very nice ...beautiful view inside and outside of the restaurant on the water. We finished around 8 in time to have pictures and watch Wishes.

We had a dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse and it was wonderful. We were in the back of the restaurant and I didn't feel silly at all. Actually it was wonderful getting all the congratulations as we walked by other guests when we left.

Hi Sajetto !

We had a 7-course evening meal at Victoria & Alberts, which was a totally awesome dining experience. It is like dining as Royalty, we had an absolutely amazing meal and the service was second to none.

The only down side is that V&A only serve at set timed sittings, 5.30pm and 8.00pm (roughly) and as we got married at 2pm, we had a bit of a gap between reception and meal. It wasn't a problem as we just stayed in the Grand Floridian foyer and got drinks from across at the pool bar.

I have never, ever had such an amazing dining experience and it was rated by our guests as one of the real highlights of the trip.

we had 9 people and it was the set price of i think $24.99 each for the dinner buffet, if you have more than 8 people they add the service charge on automatically.
they put us near the big windows at the back of chef mickeys, and we had the characters coming by all the time. our server was really nice, she gave me and gary special "congratulations" place mats, and we got a special decorated cupcake with candles on it! goofy even stole my placemat at one point then came back with it later with all the characters signatures on it! i've got it framed on my wall!
some pictures from the meal are in the link on the bottom of my post.
we had a great time, the characters really make you feel special! although it did take some arranging to get us all in one photo (they take a photo of you on the way in, dont think theyre used to trying to get 9 fully formally dressed people in one photo!!) any other questions feel free to ask!

My DH and I had decided to pay for everyone’s dinner as a gesture of thanks for all who traveled to be with us. So, I had booked ‘group priority seating’ reservations for Ohana’s restaurant at the Polynesian resort at our 90 day out point. For those of you who have never been to 'Ohana it means family which is evident from the moment that you arrive. When you're seated, your "cousins" will greet you with a friendly "Aloha." The Polynesian decor provides a relaxed, tropical setting. The dining room is large and edged in windows which provide fantastic views of the Magic Kingdom.

Once we arrived to the Poly, applause came from everywhere….everyone was extremely loving to us. We waited a few moments before our reservations were called. We had a long center table for about (20) square in the middle of the room and near the pit. The food began and it was FAB-U-LOUS! Ohana’s is an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT buffet style dinner and not only did everyone eat until they couldn’t move, they also raved about the food which included:

· Shrimp and Vegetable Wontons

· Honey and Coriander Chicken Wings

· Salad with Honey Lime Dressing,

· Stir Fried Vegetables

· Cheesy potatoes

· Marinated Sirloin Steak

· Mesquite Seasoned Turkey Breast

· Bar-B-Que Pork Loin

· Grilled Tiger Shrimp

· Bread Pudding with Vanilla Bean ice cream

The focus of the room is the 18 foot open fire pit. Skewers of delicious all you care to eat shrimp, beef, poultry and pork are prepared here and delivered to your table. I knew this was the spot for our dinner reception because:

1) The men in my family love to eat!

2) Ohana’s includes fun stuff for the kids (coconut races and hula hoop contests)

3) Lastly, they entertain your "Ohana" (family) by a singer accompanied by his ukulele.

This restaurant definitely included something for everyone. We were acknowledged by the singer and everyone clapped for us! After dinner, we had booked one-way transfers to take everyone back to their hotel rooms. All of the town cars were nice and they were waiting for us downstairs at the entrance of the Polynesian.

This was a beautiful evening for all of us. As the night, set in, the lighting in the restaurant got dimmer ---> which made it even more romantic!

O'hanas was quite affordable too..... Adults $24.99 and Children $10.99.
