I have already asked this in another thread titled under something different - but any suggestions on what to do with guests after a 2:30 ceremony/reception when dinner is not until 5:30?? Our ceremony is at the WP and we are eating at Narcooses... I've heard the reception does not last long (anyone know how long exactly?) so what to do during the down time?? It seems silly to leave the GF when everything is taking place there.
I've thought about cocktails at a bar.. but I don't know of any open before 5.
Thanks!

I really don't think you would have alot of time to have to wait. Your ceremony would be about a hour, pics probably 30 min? Maybe just have family and friends take pics around the resort. See if you can get into the restaurant at 5 maybe? I agree, I wouldn't go somewhere else for that little of a time.

We are in the same positon, our ceremony is at 11am and we are booked in for dinner at 4.30, i suppose by the time pics etc are done there wont be too much spare time.
I cant wait!! x

I was going to post this question tooo!!!

I wonder the same thing! I know the ceremony is quick... but then there is the cake cutting... so I am thinking between those too it will bring us up to about 3:15ish... then an hour of pictures around the resort with your photograher bring it up to 4:15-4:30... and with princessbelle's idea of having fam shoot some shots, you could get right up to about 5-5:15 and you could be ready to eat!

I think that if I stretch out the pics till about 4-4:30 then I can take the monorail (how fun  ) from the poly over to the contemp for the Cali Grill.

If any brides think that my timeline is kinda off, let me know!

That's true - I guess the guests can always watch us get our pictures taken, I just feel weird that 18 of my friends and family having to watch us get pictures taken that long! They would be pleased being sent to a bar.. but I can't think of any at the GF open before 5!!

Do couples get their pictures done immediately after the ceremony and they go to the reception.. or is it pictures, cake, and more pictures? It's after the cake ceremony I worry for the boredom of my guests...

Has anyone eaten as early as 5 for their reception dinner at Narcooses since it opens at 5:30? I was told I have to call the restaraunt directly.. maybe between my teaching classes today I will fit it into my schedule!! :-)

I wonder if you would be able to order an extra bottle of fairytale cuvee (that you have for the toast) and let your guests drink it (either at Commander's Terrace, or somewhere else at GF) while you go take more photo's?

I have a similar problem... ceremony/reception at noon and dinner at 5pm. I have no idea what I'm going to do with everyone, so I'm just hoping things work out somehow!

I think I have figured it out... we've decided to have our dinner at The Yaughtsman's steakhouse at the Yaught Club Resort. This restaurant has an awesome bar that is open at 12 noon, so I can send my guests there after the cake cutting to enjoy some drinks. Then when my DF and I are finished with pictures at the GF we can take the limo over there to enjoy a few cocktails and have dinner at 5:30. Anyone eat there before for their wedding?? I requested group menus.
