I am curious to know this too. I doubt anybody will throw me one and I doubt Tim and I will even get a wedding gift, nor do I expect it.

I will be SHOCKED seriously lol.

I did not get a bridal shower, nor did I really get a balchorette party either.

No shower for me either. One of DH's aunts brought up the idea of throwing us a shower, but it didn't pan out because she didn't mention it until about a week before we were supposed to leave for the wedding. lol. It's probably best that she didn't throw us one, however, because she wasn't actually invited to the wedding nor were most of the people who would have attended the shower. (We had an escape and only invited immediate family.) We'd have felt strange about that...

And on the subject of wedding gifts... we received exactly three... :rotfl: My mom, his parents and my grandma. That's OK, we didn't invite very many people to the wedding and I didn't really expect gifts. I was grateful for the ones we did receive. But you would have at least thought that everyone invited to the wedding would have at least gotten us a card. But nope. Neither of our sisters even gave us cards! Jeez, what are siblings good for? :lmao:

im gonna have a bridal shower :yay:

but i need a guy first... loooking for one :surfweb:

Awww, Lynn! I think everyone should have a shower, even if it's three people. A MOH or a mom usually does that. I can't believe people wouldn't send wedding cards- gifts are one thing, but everyone can afford a heartfelt note, esp if its a sibling's wedding! Gosh!

I don't think we're having one. I'd feel bad accepting gifts from people who aren't invited. I already told the people that are invited that we don't expect any gifts. They already know we own a house so we don't really need anything.

Aww I'd throw you a shower if I were there! Why dont you ask a friend to throw you a party, a little send off or something. You can even say no gifts... but it's so nice to get with a bunch of women and chat... maybe exchange recipes or something.

Hi Lynn,
I am an intimate and had a shower this past Saturday. However we are having an at home reception. DF was given a shower at work last week too :lmao: I think my work shower is sometime next week ;)

we are having our small wedding in disney and then comming home to have a wedding video viewing bbq party... for those who were invited but could not make it...

My mother and fmil want me to have a shower... and will be inviting everyone who was invited... even if they are not comming, and i am a bit nervous about that!

We are having a party as well when we get back for my family and friendss who can't make it.Something very casual and fun,but nice at the same time.

Yeah... uuuummm... No...
We should all get together and throw ourselves a bridal shower/bachellorette party!!! :rotfl:
No gifts required but that would still be fun :)

My coworkers threw a bridal shower for me... It was fun to celebrate with the other teachers at my school. They also invited my mom who had already arrived for our wedding. It was nothing big-- just cake and punch. I did receive several gifts, but just getting together was fun.
