Help! We bought a budget pool.....one of the 16' INTEX pools (not the inflatable, the other type with poles).

Has anyone had any luck putting any fencing, on the top of one of these? You know the kind you see for above ground pools, that screw to the posts. Or any other suggestions? Our town requires that it be fenced somehow. We don't really want a permanent fence because we have to take the pool down for the winter.

Hi,
We bought an intex pool also and needed a fence. I made it out of 3/4 inch white pvc pipe. I cut a 24 inch piece and attached a pvc cross tee to the top of the cut piece. I used a rubber mallot to tap the ends of the fittings. After you attached the cross tee use electrical zip ties to attach to the pool's upright poles. Make sure its secured tightly. Next cut a piece of pipe to 22 inches and insert it onto the top of the crosstee and insert a tee on the top of the pipe. Tap them with the mallot to make sure they seat on the pipe. Do this for every upright on the pool. Then measure the distance between the tees and cut the pipe to that size. Insert the pipe into the tees and tap with mallot. Do one section at a time. Finish the ends with 90 degree elbows to tie it together. Lowes sell a white plastic fence 2feet by 25 feet at 10 doolars a roll, you need 2. When youare done with the pipe part you will have a frame to attach the fencing with zip ties. I tied my fence into a deck i built came out really nice. Costed about 70 dollars to make. I could sent you a picture if you want.

Hope it helps you
Chuck

We have been desperately seeking security measures for a 24' round Intex pool we just purchased and there is not much in the market. We have 3 children one of which has special needs hence will be using pool for theraputic purposes. My DH is very handy and I came upon this site, any help suggestion is truly appreciated. We have alarm on our sliding door that leads to our backyard and our yard is fenced in BUT we definitely need additional safety measures in place for the children.

Thanks for the help!

It isn't pretty, but that orange waffle looking temporary fencing suffices for most fence laws. It is cheap, and ugly. Quite a combo. Clearly, making one that looks nice would be great, but if the alternatives are to sweat your butt off, or have the ugly orange fence surrounding the watering hole...well I'd choose ugly every time.

I was just wondering if anyone was able to get photos of the finished project? I too have an intex pool that I need to put a fence around.. this seems like a good fix to my problem...

I can visually see it.. the only thing I am not sure on is the opening for the ladder and how it would be locked when not in use....

Again if anyone has tried this project please update... thanks

Hi. Just wondering. If you could. Send a picture of the fence to me.

Chuck...

Your fence sounds awesome.Could you please send me a pic of it. From your description alone, I think it will work great - but a visual would be better. TY

In the same predicament! Looks like our fence man is gone.

Hey Chuck ~~ Can you please send me a picture of this as well... Just found out we have to do the same thing & definitely can't spend a ton of money on it. We were planning to do a partial deck so we should be able to tie into that as you mentioned.
