Interviews

xItsCorx, how'd your interview go?

Absolutely wonderfully! :) I actually didn't get hired into anything that I applied for haha butttttt because I have experience working in a restaurant I was able to get a job as a cocktail server at The Contemporary at The Outer Rim. It's only part-time, but from what I've heard, there aren't many available full-time jobs available. But it's a job at Disney and that's all that matters :)

congrats thats awesome. how come you weren't hired in the other 3 that you wanted?

From my understanding, as far as openings go today, there weren't any for me in my chosen roles. No biggie though, everything happens for a reason and everything always works out just as it should....kind of how destiny works in my opinion :P

To be honest, I'm actually really excited about this position. Seems like it has some more potential than maybe would have been open for me in attractions....but we'll see :) I honestly think I'll really like this :)

Thats a good way to look at it, and I was curious because I have an interview next week and two of my 3 choices are lifeguarding and attractions, so I was wondering if they were no longer available. Also what should I expect from the interview, and did they hire you right after like you were asking others?

You can always transfer into attractions later in your career with the Mouse!

I don't know if they're no longer offering those spots...I just don't think they had anything available yesterday...but who knows haha the interview was honestly the easiest interview I've ever had :) It was superrrrr laid back. My recruiter was extremely nice and we even enjoyed a few jokes and laughs together. Basically if you just go in there really relaxed and treat it more like a conversation rather than an interview, you'll knock it out of the park. From just that interview yesterday, I can tell they really want to see you succeed. And yes I basically got hired right on the spot, did my paperwork and everything, and got scheduled for Traditions for the 14th. Not saying that's the norm...but that's how things worked out for me personally. From the looks of it though, a few people that interviewed yesterday were there doing paperwork/fingerprints with me. So if they have your chosen role available or you pick something that is open, chances are that you'll get hired then and there :)

Yeah, I know that...but if this ends up paying better and working out better than attractions would then I might just stay where I'm at. Sure attractions would be fun...but money is kind of King right now haha and anything that pays most, I'm going to take :P

Thanks I really appreciate that, and do you know if nothing you put is open will they try to find you a spot somewhere else like they did with you, or was that just because you had prior experience with serving? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to learn as much as I can.

I honestly don't know. From what I understand, having friends who have applied for something specific but there aren't any available positions in that job, they try to put you somewhere if they see that you could potentially be suited for that position. But don't take my word for it....for all we know, I could have just gotten lucky haha

Congrats and welcome to the Disney family :)

congrats! :thumbsup2 I think being a server would have been fun! I dated a guy who was a server in the Italian pavilion, and he made big bucks! definitely more than I did!

Thank you! I'm so excited to finally be part of this amazing family :)

You're very lucky to get a serving position at Disney!

That's what I'm saying! haha I thought it took a lot more than just having a good interview to get any kind of serving job at Disney :P haha

Thank you! I'm sure I'll make decent money, but probably not near as much as a regular server. We'll see though :)
