I applied for either a FTe or PT position with attractions as my number one choice about a month and a half or so ago. Today, much to my surprise, I got an email from recruiting to go ahead and take the WBI. Finished in about 25 minutes and passed! At the end, I was given notification that I would receive an email within 3 business days to schedule an actual interview....so after a while of anticipation, I'm finally getting the chance to interview with someone!

Does anyone know if all of the interviews are done in person or are they phone interviews? And do any of you guys have any tips or helpful advice for my interview? I always do great at interviews because (not to toot my own horn) I have a really energetic and upbeat personality and people like to see that in am interview. Basically every interview I've ever had, I've knocked out of the park and have always gotten the job but I know Disney is a completely different beast to tackle and I want to make sure I do all that I can to really try to stand out from the rest. I really want this job!

Also, I know that just because attractions was my number one choice doesn't necessarily mean I'm getting it but that would be nice haha does anyone know if they are still hiring for attractions right now? If not I believe merch was my number two and lifeguarding was my number three.

Thanks for the help and advice in advance!

To be completely honest, since you say that you have done pretty well on most interviews you do, this one shouldn't be to difficult.
I applied for the program towards the end of the process as a whim and i got in. It isnt that hard. Just be,like you said, positive and energetic and youll be good. Also, if you google dcp interview questions you could find a bunch of info there.
and they are phone interviews.
and this disney interview has been the easiest one i have ever done, hands down.

haha all good :) I've actually interviewed for the CP before but got pended and ultimately denied because I applied late and the program basically filled up. But I think I nailed the interview and was just denied because there were no more spots in the program. So I can only assume the interview is the same for CMs but I figured it would be worth asking about :)

Your interview will be an in-person interview most likely. You will receive an email to log on to your account...the one you created when you filled out your online interview...and there you will be given a choice of dates and times to interview at casting. Not sure how many days/times will be available but you will have a choice.

Good Luck. Watch for your email because mine came the very next day after the WBI rather than the 3 days it states.

I was just hired for Seasonal Merchandise (yesterday!) Like Iris said, I got the email to schedule the interview the very next day after the WBI.

I was so nervous about the interview, but it was very quick and painless. When I got to Casting I went to the desk and they gave me my application that I had filled out online to check over and make any changes or corrections and sign. Then I waited with a bunch of other people in the waiting room - kinda like at the doctor's office...LOL.

My recruiter came out and called my name, introduced herself, and as I was following her to her office she asked how many times I'd been to WDW, my favorite park and my favorite attraction in that park. (Be careful what you answer if you get these questions! I said MK and Carousel of Progress, which is true, and I got put in Tomorrowland...coincidence? I don't know!)

Then once we got in her office she basically went over my application to confirm everything.
She asked why did I want to work at WDW
My present job and my duties there.
Why did I want to work Merchandise.
Did I have a place to live in Orlando.
Did I have transportation to work.
Did have any tattoos? (I don't...yet! I really want one but haven't gotten one because I want to work at Disney. I do have a nose stud but took it out for the interview and of course will take it out for work too, but she didn't ask about that.)

And that's pretty much it! I was shocked at how quick it was. She said I was a strong candidate. Then she asked about my background because I had checked "Yes" to a past conviction. I explained that it was a bad check charge 28 years ago when I was in college and I had pled guilty and paid the fine. She said that I had to undergo a background check before she could proceed and that it would take 3-5 days. She took me down to the lab and they took my fingerprints and that was it.

It actually took 12 days (not counting weekends, but who's counting! LOL) I'm not sure what the process would be without the background check.

Hope this helps a little bit - you'll do great! And Good Luck!

Thanks for all of the help everyone! :)

My interview is June 8th at 11am. I figured I'd pick an earlier one to make sure I wasn't getting someone who had been interviewing people ALLLLLL day and was over it haha so I figured with an earlier time, I would get someone with fresh eyes :)

I'm pretty relieved to hear this, too! But I also have the question of whether they are hiring certain positions. My first choice was bus driver, then merchandising. I'd love to drive. Also, biggest question... I applied for FT only on my app. What's the chances I'm going to drive all the way to Orlando and get offered a part time job (which I won't be able to take :( )? Also, last question, I swear, do they indicate at the end of the interview whether you are hired or not?

Bumping this back up because I have some similar questions to what Adamthezombie asked. Does anyone know what positions are available right now as far as what Disney is hiring for right now? I applied for attractions, merchandise, and lifeguarding. What are the odds that I'll get there to the interview on Wednesday and it will be null and void because those positions are all filled now? I know that may sound unlikely, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask. And just as asked before, do they indicate at the end of the interview whether you're hired or not? Thanks for the help guys! :)

We are currently hiring:
Quick Service Foods
Housekeeping
Attractions
Lifeguards
Recreation
Culinary
Character look-alike performers

I do not know if these are FT, CR, or CT roles.

Okay awesome! Thank you!

Btw, what does CR and CT stand for? I know what FT stands for but I'm drawing a blank on the others haha

CR is Casual Regular - meaning part-time
CT is Casual Temporary - meaning seasonal (all College Program and Interns are CT)

haha ohhhhh okayyyy. Thank you once again :) hopefully they're still hiring for FT if not, I would settle for part-time....but I don't know if I'd be a huge fan of seasonal. I would certainly take it if that's all they had to offer, but here's to keeping my fingers crossed for FT still :)

I had to wait to find out because of the security check but at Traditions yesterday a couple of girls said they were offered the job at the interview. Good luck!

Oh! That's great news! Because basically, I'm willing to start working with them asap. So if they offer me a job, let's just hope they offer it during the interview. Here's to hoping again! :)

I'm a cast member and I started in a CP, and stayed in my current role so I didn't have an in-person interview, but my boyfriend just did and got it! He's going to be a monorail pilot. His recruiter told him "I'm prepared to offer you this job if everything goes well with the drug test". He had to go the Centra Care right outside of Downtown Disney and do the drug test and they send Disney the results. He goes in on friday to do all of his paper work!

I have never heard of anyone taking a drug test - that is not the norm. However, everyone takes a backgroud test/fingerprinting. Sometimes fingerprinting is done very quickly, other times it takes longer if there is more in your record. After background is successful, you'll be enrolled in Traditions and off you go!

Yeah he had to go do it and then Centra Care sends Disney the results I guess. He hasn't been fingerprinted yet. He's going this Friday to finish paperwork and I'm assuming he will do that then. Maybe drug testing is randomized?
