My sister has a great timeshare at Ridge Tahoe which she has been successful trading via Interval for Disney timeshares. Normally she goes in January or February and has stayed at OKW. Now my sister is considering trading into Disney and then renting out the unit so she can use that money to go on a Disney cruise. The thing is that she must request a specific week(s) when she trades. She is normally pretty flexible with dates and that is one reason why I think she is successful trading into Disney. I don't think she can really find a renter before requesting because as you know it is difficult to trade into Disney without some flexibility.

Here's the question: if my sister has a specific week to rent out (a 2 bedroom at least) at a DVC resort, how successful do you think she would be finding a renter? I know normally people have a week in mind before asking a DVC owner to rent them points. Let's assume she gets a unit during Disney's slowest week.

Thanks much!

I don't think that she will have as much success as someone who can make a reservation at anytime for a renter. She may have to rent for less than $10 a point. But you never know.

I think it all comes down to the price. You can check on the Rent/Trade Board. There are several people who are renting out the weeks they exchanged via II. There will always be a taker if the price is right.

BTW, which timeshare does your sister own? I would love to get one that I can trade into DVC and get 7 nights rather than 5. I would take up the offers on the ones on the Rent/Trade Board, but their time does not fit into our schedule.

I would love to have a timeshare that has a decent trading power that I can trade into OKW for the weeks that I want (I understand that it will not be the peak season).

Thanks for any info you can provide.
