Interval options

For those who have been members for a while does it seem like the options through interval change often. Specifically have you noticed they have added more resorts over the years?
We bought into DVC without researching it on the board first (totally out of character for me!). Our plan was Disney trip every other year and usually trips to visit family or beach trips the other years. We liked the DVC because of the world passport collection option. We really want to expose the kids to different cultures as they get older. It seems like after reading the board it is hard to get a place through interval. Specifically I was looking at Europe and noticed some countries like Spain have a ton of offering but we have friends in London we'd like to see and there is little there:confused3
We are hoping maybe by the time we want to go they will add more options. Am I getting the wrong impression about difficulty getting a ressie during the summer months? Thanks for helping a newbie

London is just tough for timeshare, no matter how you want to do it---there simply are not many resorts, and real estate there is sufficiently expensive that one would not expect many resorts to be built anytime in the near future.

The same is true of most big-city destinations.

The options have changed as newer and better resorts come along. Some older and lessor choices have dropped off. Spain and related islands are like Orlando mostly overbuilt though the Riviera area is somewhat better. There are only 2 II timeshares in London and one isn't even shown on their website or in their book it is so seldom available. As a rule, European timeshares do not measure up from a resort standpoint to many US, Caribbean and MX resorts but there are some good options.

I don't know about Europe, but we've been II members for 14 years. With advance planning we've gotten into wonderful resorts. I don't think there are a lot of resorts added frequently though. So if you're looking for one particular location it could be tough.

DVC controls which resorts are added to the DVC exchange list. As a rule they avoid resorts (or sections) that are still under construction, add the nicer resorts, drop the ones that have slipped (or when nice options come available) and don't include Orlando. They are also trying to give a broad coverage so they might add an OK resort where there are little or no other options but would not add that same resort if there were a couple of better choices. They also tend to shy away from direct competition (ie Orlando, Paris Disney locations) though they have added appropriate resorts in HH.
