Interval Exchange

My apologies if this has been addressed a lot before, but I don't have time to search all the threads and the search is not working well.

I am interested to know if anyone has used the Interval exchange and how it worked for you. I would like to exchange for a carribean island trip in 2010 or perhaps England France or Italy. (Europe would be more difficult for me due to the airfare) If I want to go in 2010 can I use 2010 points or will I have to use my 2009 points? Can I hold just the points I need and then use the remaining points for other disney trips?
Of most interest is did you get what you wanted when you wanted in an exchange.

You need to look at least a year out prior to travel. You use points in the UY of the trip so if it's in the 2010 UY you'd use points in that UY with one exception, what you're 2 use years ahead, you may have a choice. There's not much in France or Italy overall and far less comparable. You don't have to keep the points available in reserve, just at the time of the exchange. Most exchanges happen around a year out but 6 months out and 2 months prior are other times where a lot of matches occur.
