Hi there,
I am currently studying to become a RID certified CI-CT for American Sign Language. While I'm at WDW next weekend, I'd really like to sit in the interpreted section for some of the shows, as theatrical interpretation is what I'd ultimatly like to focus on. Do any of you know how to go about doing this? I know that the interpreters move around from park to park and show to show on different days. Do I need to get special permission to sit in these sections? I would hate to have to ask for a special assistance pass and potentially block someone's access who really needs to see the interpreters. But I can always move if more people show up.

Thanks,
Tiffany

Tiffany,
Ask at Guest Services for a schedule of interpreted shows. Then you can go to the different shows and watch. For most shows they are on the right. I am too in an ITP program and working towards certification but will only be able to do one on one or small group assignments since I need a terp myself in crowded and noisy situations. Hard of hearing. I am doing a small amount of terping for friends now. What program are you in. I'm at Miami-Dade Community College in Miami. If you see Jennye tell her hi and everyone at MDCC remembers her.

At Jungle Cruise, It's just a matter of showing up at the right time. Go to the dock box (podium at the unload area), explain to the coordinator what you'd like to do, and they'll probably let you get on the boat with the interpreter (especially if there's not a line and you mention that you're a CM). What a cool thing to be learning. Hooray for you!

Steve,
And she needs to get the schedule from Guest Relations so she knows what time to be there.
I never do Jungle Cruise with the terp. It is one that I don't need it. :) Since I get boarded early due to my other disability I am close to the guide and can hear the guide. The one time my other disability helps with the hearing disability.
