Internet speed at the Contemporary

Has anyone ever worked from the Contemporary using their wifi? How strong was it?

Not the Contemporary, but right next door - I’ve had to do some work from Bay Lake Towers and it’s been mediocre IMHO. We usually stay on a high floor; I’m unsure if that’s a contributing factor (or if that even matters at all). For basic personal use it is serviceable. The last time we stayed there was February 2018; it may have improved since then.

I work IT for a living and while WDW is OK (a bit slow) for things like their web site for serious work their internet is really sad.

Just got back from another stay at the Contemporary. I haven't done a speed test there per se, but I've streamed hi res video without any issues, and I've uploaded 30 meg image files at all times of day.

Great (full scale) strength in Tower rooms, Garden rooms, and on Club Level.

Never a hiccup.

I will need to work from there next month and all I need is a 3MBPS speed. Would I get that there? I can't use a hotspot for my particular work.

Thanks! I feel like they've recently upgraded their wifi and I would think with the number of conferences held at CR that they would have decent wifi. Thats good to hear, thanks!

My work isn't anything high speed. It's remotely grading standardized test responses. I just hit submit every few minutes and it reloads another scanned test booklet. This is the technical requirement for the job, according to the company.

I stayed at the Contemporary around Christmas time and had to work. I didn't experience any issues with the Wifi for the 4-5 hours I was online working and I had multiple programs running. If you can live with the connection being a little slower you should be okay.

BTW I’m seriously jealous. It will be a while before we’re back at the Contemporary. I do not completely understand why, but that building is my favorite place on Earth.

I really love it too! My first trip to WDW was in 1979 and we stayed there. I was 9 months old and the room was $35/night! LOL! That hotel always feels like home to me. We have been very lucky to get the military discount there several times.
