I was looking on the Universal webpage at hotel rates and noticed a new "Internet Special". At RPR, if you stay for 4 nights or more you can receive 15% off your entire stay. This is a better rate than AAA. I do not have an AP so I do not qualify for the APH rate. I have already purchased the Orlando Flexticket and have no need for the AP.

Has anyone here booked this rate? Do the Loews members still get the perks with this discounted rate?

Anyone have any additional information about this rate or have you spoken to the resorts about it?

Thanks,
Shannon

PS: We leave for Universal in 24 days and we cant wait!!

I am a Loews member. I am staying for 4 nights and get two full entrance tickets to the parks for free for length of stay. It is called "stay for four and play for free". :rotfl: :flower:

We booked our upcoming trip directly on the Loews website. They had 2 different deals - one was the stay 4, play free and the other was 20% internet special for 4 day stays. Hope that helps.

I didn't book the 15% special that you mentioned. However, I did book using the Stay & Play package like Irelandred11. Even though it's an advertised "special" they still upgraded me and told me (via email) that I'd receive my welcome amenity, free fitness center use & newspaper for being a Loews Platinum member. I booked a standard room for $199 a night (for 4 nights) and have been upgraded to a king suite. Included in the package are 2 "length of stay" park passes. I booked on Loew's website and then sent them an email asking about the upgrade. I received a nice response from them within 24 hours and a new confirmation email (noting the king suite). :)

I may however rebook using the special you mentioned and purchase 2 power passes. It'd only cost me $80.70 more than the Stay & Play package. And I know we'll be back to use the passes again before the year is up. Hmm, decisions, decisions.

Wow...only 24 days! Lucky! :)

I just booked AP rate and bought a PAP instead.
For my trip, it was $129 per night .. plus $16 per month or $189 for the PAP plus the 5 day ticket is 99$ .. came out to $804 and I have an AP.

I am curious about the pricing for Universal Vacations. I am booked for 7/17-21/05 at Royal Pacific Standard for $177/night plus the $99 Buy 2 Days, Get 3 Free deal for a total of $928 for 2 adults, 4 nights. That is with the Florida Resident Discount. Its the cheapest that I have found. I checked the Stay & Play and it is $1043 for the same dates, etc. My question is, does anyone know if you can get the Stay & Play plus Florida Resident discount (is there a promotional code that I don't know?) or any other way to get this cheaper? I would consider getting an Annual Pass if it made it cheaper. I tried it on the Lowes site and the price went down to $159 with an Annual Pass discount, but that really isn't cheap enough (it would save me $72, but the pass would cost me an extra $80-$90...and I booked before June 5th, so I already get the coupon book). I guess it depends on if I could get back there within the year...Hmmm...not sure, my job is very restrictive. Sorry, but I'm not hotel saavy. I'm young, I'll learn. Thanks for any help you can give me...I hope this is the first of many Universal trips.

I have the internet special (stay 4 days, save 20%) booked for the Portofino. When I tried to book through Universal, they told me it was not a qualifying rate, so they would not give me my platinum upgrade.

I called LoewsFirst and they told me to make sure (and they really stressed this) that I booked from the Loewshotels.com website. Then I could prove that it was a Loews Hotel offered rate. The lady at LoewsFirst then told me to immediately call the front desk of the hotel (stressed this again) and have my LoewsFirst benefits applied to the reservation.

It worked like a dream. I booked 2 gardenview rooms at PBH, called the front desk and was upgraded to our suite.

Of course, now the APH rates are out and they are $40.00 a night cheaper, but I can't change, otherwise I lose my suite upgrade.

Goofy - I just want to make sure I understand. I booked the stay 4 play free deal on Loews website (because everywhere else, including univacations, said Royal Pacific King Suites were booked). Anyway, I did as you said and called the hotel directly to have my Loews number apply to the reservation. But, I am just a Loews Blue member (just joined) so I think an upgrade is only given at the time of check-in, if available. I think you have to be a Platinum member to get the guaranteed upgrade confirmed ahead of time. Does that sound right to you? If so, I can't gamble that a Suite would be available and I'll just have to keep racking up my Loew's points until I become a Platinum member.

3Mousketeers - that is correct. The guaranteed upgrade to a suite is only for platinum members. But you should receive your welcome gift other Loews First Blue amenities.

At the risk of being annoying, I'll ask one last question on this topic (which I know noticed has spread over at least 2 threads) - do they ever upgrade up from a King Suite at RPR at check-in (for Loews Blue members)? if so, what would the upgrade be to?

Well, 3Mousketeers! I would assume the only upgrade would be to a Hospitality Suite! LOL! That is the next in line... I have not heard of any recent upgrade to Club Level. They are asking $90/night for this, but hey... it could happen!
