Internet Charge at BWV

We just returned from staying at Boardwalk, and we were charged the daily $9.95 fee for internet access (on January 2nd). I did check with a couple cast members at the front desk, and they were unaware of any change. Maybe the change to free internet won't occur until later in 2008?

Some folks have reported being told by DVC Resorts that it will be "Spring" 2008.

We just returned home too and heard the same as you, that they hadn't even heard about it yet.

Reminds me of a Dibert cartoon where the pointy haired boss gives information to the media before providing it to the employees. Then they are stuck trying to explain something they don't know anything about.

I'll let you know when I see the bill. I am at BWV right now and have been using the internet and was told by the front desk, and the Disney Internet tech people that DVC members do NOT get charged for the internet. We check out on Monday, and I'll report shortly thereafter.

The CM at SSR told me that the free internet would start some time this year. I am sure the DVC info said Jan 1, but was it 2008 or 2009?

Made some more phone calls.... no real answer.
Free starts sometime in 2008. No one know exactly when!

Ever notice the CM's tend to 'not know anything?' Finding that more and more often.

I believe the "official" statement was "Starting in 2008" - so that could really mean anytime in 2008. We're going first two weeks in March and we're really counting on the free Internet - we're going to have to do some work while on vacation (but a couple of hours of work at WDW is better than two weeks worth of work back home).
