Thanks

At the RPR it costs $10 per half hour. I you use your own it's $15 per half hour.

I thought I read somewhere about there being a reasonable, daily rate to access the net in your room @ HRH. I'm not sure where I read that though. :confused3 If I'm wrong, I hope someone will enlighten us.

its $9.95 per day but it ends at (I believe) 3PM as opposed to a 24 hrs period like WDW.

HSIA?

I emailed the HRH concierge to get more info. These are the replies I received:

Our in-house wireless internet is provided by Wayport and it is $9.95 per
day. The wireless connection is available in the lobby area, the
conference rooms and is also available in the cabanas per our recreation
department.

I can be pretty dense at times, so I sent another email asking for clarification on internet access in the room, as well as the common areas. I also asked him how long the $9.95 fee was good for. This is the 2nd reply:

The wireless internet service available in the common areas is not
available in the rooms. There is a high-speed hook-up in our rooms for a
lap top, however, this would be a separate charge than the wireless, but it
is still $9.95 for a 24 hour period. Just in case you may need a printer,
our business center is open Monday through Friday from 7am until 6pm.

Unfortunately, I'm still a bit confused. Yes, I'm blond. I know you were wondering. :p I'm too embarrassed to email again. So, is the in room access & common area access (We're interested in cabana access.) both $9.95 ea.? I can't tell if that's what he's saying, or if he's saying the common areas are a $9.95 fee & the in room access is something different. Could he be saying the in room fee is the one that is $9.95, & there's an hourly fee for the common areas? :confused3 If anyone emails them to find out for sure, please let me know what they say. :)

Two different types of service are available for your laptop, wireless in the common areas, high-speed wired service in the room. Each type of service is a separate charge for a 24 hour period, at least I think that's what it means for the wireless.

Hi,
Our family stayed at the Hard Rock for two weeks last October. We used the laptop wirless service for our entire stay. It did work wirelessly in our room which was located on the Club 7 floor. My suggestion to you would be go to the wayport web sight for info. It was cheaper for me to take the service for a month. I did use the wired port to register with wayport at no extra charge.

Hope this helps.
Mike

Thanks for the explanations. :) Among other things, I couldn't figure out why I would need to pay $9.95 for hook-up in the room, if I was already paying for wireless. Why would I want to pay for access only in my room, when wireless covering the entire resort was the same price? I didn't know if they somehow blocked wireless service to the rooms. Anyway, I think I finally get it. His description just didn't add up to me. I guess I need things in black & white. If wireless access is blocked in the rooms, an explanation of the service such as; Wired, High Speed, Internet hook-up in your room will be $9.95 for a 24 hr. period. If you also need wireless access in the lobby, conference rooms, etc., that will be an additional $9.95 for a 24 hr. period. It's not that difficult to explain. I'm glad to see that the wireless connection may work in all areas of the resort & the rest is a moot point.

I'm guessing they do it that way for the people who don't have wireless capability on their laptops, just an ethernet port! That way you would pay the in your room fee and still have the internet. :thumbsup2

I hope when I'm there in Oct, the wireless reaches to my room (wherever that may be?)
