Internet access at VB??

I was wondering who could give me some insight as to what sort of service I can expect the first week of December at VB? I have our ressies made for a few days at Vero following a stay at WDW. I just found out yesterday that I will need high speed access for a work related thing on December 4, 2003. I have seen the recent stories about the resorts upgrading, but does anyone have any idea about Vero?? If not, do any of you technical wizards have any insight as to what I could do? I do have a notebook computer with an internal ethernet card. Is there somewhere else nearby I could go?

Should I call the resort directly with these questions?

I know they have computers you can use but I am not sure what service is on those.


You may want to call and ask-772-234-2000.

Maybe next year they will be able to offer high speed access.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

We were at VB in July and they closed down there Business Center. They were moving it to the main lobby in the Inn, out in the open, and 1 PC. This is suppose to be the "upgrading" of there Business center........what a joke
You will be OK if you bring your own laptop.

P.S. if you don't bring a laptop.......the VB library is about 10 minutes away, and has about 15 PC's.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll call directly and check. I'm afraid if I can't get high speed, then I'll have to cut the trip short and I definitely don't want to do that!

Hey Nick- I looks like we're from the same area. Did you have all that wind last night??

The VB Library is either DSL or cable(not dial up). The winds were 40-mph in our area.

I was there at the end of September and they have a lonely PC out past the reception desk to the left. They will allow you 30 minutes free access if you have AOL and I think MSN. I have AOL and used it to check the weather reports but the connection speed is not that great. Maybe a 56k connection?? I guess I'm spoiled having a cable modem connection at home. I think it's great if you just want to check your email. I'm really suprised they don't charge for it so I was happy with the speed. Things can change however, maybe this PC was just a temp thing they setup?

I believe the library is DSL.

The cable modems in that area would have to come from the local cable company, which I believe is Comcast. They are not slated to offer high speed internet access in VB until next year-maybe.

I hope when they do that VB will get one or two cable modems and offer a business center again.

Definately call the library.

I called the resort tonight and left a voice mail for Guest Services. They should call me back tomorrow. I'll try to get some library info from them. Then I will call the library directly. Thanks again!

This would seem like an easy area where Vero could improve thier services. I've also had to do some work during a vacation, and having good internet access was a necessity to accomplish it.
