Has anyone done this through Magical Gatherings?

We are thinking of trying it during our trip in 2005 but wanted to hear some reviews

Thanks

I, too , have been waiting for some more reviews for this...as I am taking my family (10 of us) in February and the Illuminations Dinner and Dessert Reception may be the only Magical Gatherings we may try....:bounce: :Pinkbounc I'd like to hear if it was worth the price.....

We did this about two weeks ago. Reviews were mixed from our group of about 20. A buffet was set up in the Millenium Village area. Food was good and plenty of it. There was some entertainment (a DJ and a mistress of ceremonies). Goofy & Minnie came out and danced with the kids. We did a conga line (not sure how that got started).

Then we retired to the dessert and viewing area next to Canada. Depending on how many people are there (I think there were 4 or 5 different groups on our night), you may still have to look over someone's head. I thought the desserts were good but some of our group tagged them as "okay."

Overall it was a fun evening and we would probably do it again.

I was trying to find out how long the Safari Grand Gathering event is. Do you always start out watching the Jamin Jungle Parade? Any details would be appreciated. How was the food at the International Dinner? We have a lot of picky eaters in our group.

We had a great viewing area for Illuminations in England and it was a very nice party - but it was a rainy night so our dessert party portion of the evening was held under the awning by the International Gateway entrance and then right before Illuminations started, we moved to our viewing area.

Desserts were good - mostly finger items, lemonade, coffee, tea seltzer water. Very nice just a bit pricey for what it was (it was a dismeet of 20 people - worked out to $35 each approx)
