Hi Everyone,

I am thinking about applying for the International College Program to work in Disney World for the summer of 2009.

Has anyone done this?

I would love to hear some stories and hear from people who have done this.

I couldn't find any old threads on this so sorry if this has been covered before and I just couldn't find it.

Thanks xxx :flower3:

I applied several years ago, went through all the interview stages and got offered a job working in Epcot....but i turned it down LOL!

At the time i really didnt want to leave DH (Boyfriend at the time) and id just started a new job here so bad timing !

Were the interviews hard and such??

(p.s. I LOVED your TR of your wedding!!)

Aww thanks! :cloud9:

The interviews were ok, i had 2 telephone interviews which were ok, asked questions about what jobs i had done and what type of things did i do. what did i enjoy about them etc. Why i wanted to go to Disney and what would i like to do there (what type of role etc).

Then there was one face to face interview in London which was a bit daunting to start with as there were loads of people there but it was all really friendly and relaxed and the people were really nice!

I'm only 16 but im just wondering how long does this programme last for and can anyone over 18 apply? it sounds great :)

I think it lasts for a year, give or take! And yes i think any over 18 can apply!!

Dont be fooled though! Its not all great, you do work very long hours and get very little pay for it as they are giving you accomodation! The accomodation is also shared with other people in the program but not sure how many per apartment.

I understand the crap pay and it long hours (Disney Slave Drivers!) but also you have to pay rent on the accomodation. I comes right out of your pay!

I don't know about the college program but I have just been accepted on the grad program which is similar but you do a graduate program at the University of Central Florida instead of the year of college and its only 6 months. The interview was the best I've ever had for any job - Kim from disney is really nice and as long as you are friendly and enthusiastic you have a great chance of going! I wasn't sure about applying but I read loads of stuff saying how great it is and I'm so happy that I gave it a shot as I'm off on October 7th and I can't wait!!!

You should have a look at www.wdwip.com as there is loads of info about the programs, and photos and a really good forum that I got loads of help from about my interview!

Hope this helps!

That website is fantastic. Thank you so much!!

The college students we know who've participated in the college program have all had nothing but great things to say about it (despite the low pay).

While my daugther wasn't on the college program she also had a very good experience with WDW in a kind of interview situation.
In her case it was auditioning as a singer/actor.
She said the people at Disney are without a doubt the NICEST and most supportive people to audition for.
Which is very different from the typical auditioning experience.
