My DD23 participated in the International College Program last year. She was a CM in the Haunted Mansion and it was truly a dream come true for this 'little' girl that had fallen in love with the Magic Kingdom some 22 years earlier!

One of the many blessings of being there, was the wonderful friends that she made from all over, some from this Canadian thread, and I thought I would include a link here of a really wonderful tribute that a dear friend from Ireland put heart and soul into making. You can see that Disney has also stolen his heart.

If anyone is considering, or has a son/daughter thinking of doing this program, this should give them a glimpse into, how magical and life changing the whole experience can be.

It brought tears to my eyes that's for sure!

Wow, it looks likes such a wonderful experience! Now I wish I had done it :)

That was awsome. I was in the Collage Program 16 yrs ago and I stayed at Vista Way. The video brought back lots of memories. I have emailed some of my disney friends to have a look at the video.

;) Glad it worked for you...I didn't do it but it makes me feel nostalgic!

What a tear-jerker Karen! The one I'm working on for Shayna will pale, but I'll send it to you when it's done...

It will be beautiful also!
Didn't he do a great job??:thumbsup2

Takes us all back down that road to the Mouse!:smickey:

I loved it! Especially the music! Now I can't wait until University!

Wow! I read the thread you mothers had during the summer when the girls were gone and I feel as if I know them! I will definitely be mentioning this program to my daughter in the next few years. I'm sure she would love it! Thanks for sharing--I love the video!!:)

Okay Karen, way to make me cry!

I didn't know Kev had made such a nice tribute to last summer and it was so much fun spotting the kids.

Brynna is still waiting and waiting and waiting................ We're hoping this week (but that's what we said last week).

I know...tearjerker isn't it? Can only imagine how the girls/guys feel?:sad1:

Good Luck to Brynna! Where there's a will, there's a way!:thumbsup2 All else certainly pales in comparison that's for sure!

:cheer2:

How is everyone doing? Been a great week of nice weather so things are looking up!

How bout the 'big' surprise Marjorie at CSC? Should be interesting to hear all the details....

Just wondering, do you ladies know how Income tax works for the girls with their Disney stint? So they have to file a U.S return or is it declared here? The form that Disney sent...I presume that's all there is?

Just a wondering!

Hope you are all well and enjoy the weekend! Any big plans?

Talk soon?
Karen:flower3:

Hey there. Still alive here on the We(s)t coast, shivering at the cool weather we're having compared to you Easterners!

I really don't know much about what to do with the W-2 form, but I printed off the tax form from WDWIP, it's the 2006 version and followed the instructions more or less. Brynna has yet to sign it and then we'll send it in and see if she gets the tax back. We never listed it on her Cdn. tax return and I'm not sure if that's right or not. Oh well, let me know what you end up doing.

Yes, Karen, strange email recv'd today from CSC, guess more will come out as time goes on.

Hope you're doing well too Bonnie.

No word yet from International although I heard Kevin had his phone interview today and he'll know soon whether he's off to the World again.

Have a great weekend!

Marjorie

Ohhhhh is it cold out there Marjorie? We'll blow some warmth your way tho today is chilly and drab...:sad2:

Thanks for the info...I have sent the link, tho it's a little outdated, to Terry so he can peruse it. They didn't really pay too much Income tax to get refunded! Of course, it's not like they made a pile of $$ either!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to SHAYNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

21...I hear she and Shanan HAVE to go get Margarita's in Florida now!

I remember 21.................I think........sigh:rolleyes1

For the tax thing, if they're still Canadian residents (have driver's license, provincial medical, intending to return home rather than establish residence in the U.S.), they're probably SUPPOSED to file a US 1040NR (non-resident) and also a Canadian return where they declare the income from the US and deduct any taxes that they did owe in the US, after getting their refund, on it. Canada taxes on worldwide income, as long as you're a Canadian resident, and that means if you haven't established a residence abroad. That said, it's such a PITA to do all that for a young person who's not making megabucks that I'm sure most people don't bother, and if you happen to get called on it by the tax people (audit), you probably won't get a penalty laid on you, just have to pay the tax owing.

Great Video!

Was that last August? The girl in the Jungle Cruise Operator, I remember her.. She was so funny.. If that is the same girl..

Weird how you remember those things...

What a amazing adventure to work at Disney!!
I would love to!! But my hubby might think I am losing it when I tell him I am leaving for 3 months! ;)
