International bridesmaids

We're going to have five bridesmaids: one currently lives in Montreal, one in Mexico City, one in Stuttgart (Germany) and two in the US (Savannah, Georgia and Destin, Florida).

Our question is this: How do you make sure everyone's wearing the same dress? Or at least the same color?

We've found a couple stores that have dresses (J. Crew and Banana Republic), but they don't exist in all our bridesmaids' locations. Even their online stores aren't universally accessible. (At least, we don't *think* they are.)

Any ideas you guys have would be awesome! Thanks!

I have 4 bm's and one of them lives in Mexico City. What I did was have all my girls give me their measurements, order the dress myself, and then mail it to them when the dress was ready. I bought my girls' dresses for them but you can still get this done without doing that. Just go with the dress or dresses you want, ask the store about their measurement guide and ask your girls for their measurements. I went with Alfred Angelo bm dresses and they were quite inexpensive ($129 each) and I figure, with all my girls traveling from all over the place, the least I could do was buy their dresses since they were spending enough money on flights & accomodations.

you could also have your BM's order their dresses online. You can pick a dress site. Almost all of them nowadays offer international shipping. I was very fortunate because I have international wedding party people also and my MOH who is in NYC came to Montreal to buy her dress and then everyone else will get their clothes in Florida via rental. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info! So am I right in understanding that your BMs rented their dresses? That's an interesting option. Which place did you use?

rentals are for the guys in my party but I actually went into a store and my maid of honor just bought her dress off a rack. It was a prom dress and didn't need any alterations. You can use a site like impressionsbridal.com, pick out a BM style and then send the link to your bms. It gives a list of places where you can buy their dresses in different places.
