I am on the phone right now with MS because I have to cancel the last 3 nights of a reservation for next week. MS told me that they have to call OKW to release the room, because it has already been assigned.

I dont know if we were assigned ahead of time bacause I booked both a 2 bedroom and a studio, so we were pre assigned becaause of that, or if this is the norm.

Sooooooo in my case we were preassigned rooms. I sure hope this doesnt mess up our being close to each other.... but if it does, such is life.

Very interesting! Maybe some resorts are using the pre-assigned room procedure and some are doing room ready?

I just called (2min hold time and talked to my buddy Frank) to switch our May OKW reservation from 2BR to 1BR. None of the "new" issues came up. Nothing about giving the names of the people who will be staying in the room...nothing about 5 in a 1BR. I didn't have to give my SSN (though I did verify the last four digits).
 
Last time we checked into OKW - it was early, 10-11'ish - we were told OUR room was not ready yet but a room in another building was and if we wanted it we could have it. We took the ready room.
 

We have stayed at VWL and VB several times since the 'room ready' policy was announced. Never has this new policy been in place when we checked in. We've always waited to get our 'pre-assigned' room. All front desk personel I've asked never heard of the 'room ready policy'. :drinking:

Yes, the only request was to be next to each other. I really hope we still are and I feel bad for the poor room controler who thought he had us taken care of and POOF I go and mess it up.
