I'm checking in to the BCV on 4/28. I'll have to check out the party!

Could you at least ask while you are there if is is possible to have a "legal" Disney party that includes use of SAB. There are many on the other thread that are defending this woman saying they are sure she is paying some special fee to be able to use the pool and just doesn't want to be seen as spending a lot on the party and that if "Disney" (meaning whatever CM she says she talked to) is good with it why should it matter to anyone else. Guess they have never tried to get a chair when a pool is really crowded.

Wow....I'm dying to see how this turns out....

I'm thinkin Disney might let her "get away" with it....

I cant imagine them telling a bunch of potential customers
to leave....ALTHOUGH THEY SHOULD....
I would hate to be the CM who has to break the bad news....
this whole thing seems to be in poor taste....

I would hate to be the parents who drove 2hrs and be
turned away....
I bet birthday mom will shell out some big bucks if
they try to throw everyone out...

Guess we'll all have to wait and see:hourglass

I tend to agree with this....although I am absolutely opposed to the idea of this party at SAB, my guess is that it will be allowed to happen once everyone is there with their little towels and b'day packages in hand....

I'm curious how this plays out as well. I'm a BCV owner, and would be a little disappointed in Disney if they let this go on. Our first trip home BCV were full so we stayed at the BWV (which we also loved), but was a little disappointed we couldn't hop over. We knew the rules ahead of time, so NO we didn't try....but, it would have been nice.

Um, that's for a party in the kid's club not the pool.

What the mom is doing is inviting non-hotel guests to the pool, something I thought was clearly forbidden. I'm imagining a lot of confusion next weekend.

Actually this is dated info, the parties are not offered at the Sandcastle club any longer, they are only offered at the Water Parks, the minature golf courses and at the Neverland Club.

So my opinion is this Mom called the number for the resort and got the Call Center and you know how that goes.

If ANYONE is going to be there that day PLEASE! Check it out, and for all of us, complain if you see it happening. It is not fair, and I get so sick of folks throwing their weight around "because we paid more than you as DVC members". Well, ALL of us DVC members paid for our points, and it is NOT fair that someone who blatantly thinks the rules don't apply to them should get away with stuff like this. In a case like this I could and would be a whistle blower.

I thought that maybe she'd paid for it, but if not - then definitely I'd not be happy with a couple of dozen kids in the resort pool!

Yep! IF THIS IS NOT A DISNEY APPROVED (meaning BIG $$$$$$) EVENT, I would be there discussing it with management as well dianeschlicht -- they would be no different than someone staying offsite... YC, BC, and BCV guests are paying for the right to use SAB that day.

There is a time and place for pixie dust, but if someone thinks they can show up and make a loud scene to get what they want (flaunting a DVC card like that would really make a difference) is what makes me mad.

We all know the rules. I would never imagine taking my guests over to SAB to even ATTEMPT to get in unless we were all staying at BCV that day.

Some people today just think they are above long-established rules... :sad2:

Won't the guests arriving by car be turned away at the gate if they aren't staying there?

Normally they give out wrist bands, checking ID. Can you imagine her showing up with 20 kids and parents and such? How would she even do that?

I'm wondering if she is a very naive DVC owner, that just hasn't read her rules. She may end up taking her party over to one of the water parks. I can't wait to see how it all plays out!! I still can't imagine someone thinking they are allowed to do this. Even hotels off site don't allow this. If they did all the community would come hold their birthday parties at the hotel pools.

Where we live, we have to rent the pool at the club houses or in the community common areas. Again we have to RENT!

Ugh. I don't know. I couldn't wreck a little kid's birthday, even if I don't think it's right.

As I read that thread, that is the foremost thought in my mind. I would feel terrible if all those kids got turned away. It's for that reason that I bet Disney will let the mom get away with this. What a mess! :sad2:
