This is an interesting technique that produces some striking images, both for streets-capes and especially portraits. I'd like to try it with a rollercoaster image from a Disney park.

I'm assuming it's based on a number of photos taken in bursts and then selectively converted into a animated gif.

I wouldn't try it with a nature landscape or it would remind me too much of the animated light up image behind the counter at my local Chinese takeout place.
 
I sort of do this now...I shoot in burst and then watch it as I scroll through it. Never thought of how I could turn it into a short clip. Have to try it now!
