Interesting rumor from WDW

I was talking with a CM at the Canada pavillion at Epcot the other day, and I mentioned "It's the international food and wine festival, why don't they have the best donuts in the world? Where's the Tim Horton's?" The CM responded that the "beaver tail" stand is probably going to be changing, and rumor has it that WDW is talking to Tim Hortons to fill the space.

Again, only a rumor, but a very interesting rumor, and certainly one that I'd be happy to see come true.

As long as their not serving their new "steeped tea" ! :crazy2:

Think of the $$$ to be made from Canadians-needing-their-fix alone :teeth:

Mary-Liz, you're the 3rd Canuck DISer who I've heard mention that they dislike the steeped tea! The other 2 are around here somewhere. :)

Wow, Tim's at Epcot. That would be great, I hope it happens! :)

Interesting rumor, SW, thanks! :)

That steeped tea was nothing but a big ploy to make extra money.
They charged 99 cents per cup prior to the change for ANY size.
Now its up to $1.41!!!!!
I drink the decaffinated which went up to the same price as the steeped. You still get a tea bag but they raised the price!?!?!?
However just as a point of interest IF you order an XL decaf tea at Tims you get TWO tea bags with it. Half the staff aren't even aware of it or forget. So if you order XL decaf make sure you get the two tea bags.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Add me to the steeped tea = :crazy2: it sure is gross.... mind you I'm a decaf tea gal anyway!!

I can take or leave Tim's..... ever since they started putting nuts in their donuts and such we havent' been able to order anything there..... ds was ok with their bagels before but I wouldn't touch them now that they have walnuts floating around

I'll take a box of my tetley decaf with me so I'll be set!! Gotta have my tetley!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like TH's new steeped tea. I am a big tea drinker and found that it has a funny "thick" taste to it, not that light refreshing "tea" flavour. I was glad to find out that they hadn't discontinued the tea bag.

After several tries, I made a point of telling them that I didn't like their new steeped tea and I got the impression that they were hearing this a lot.

Interesting rumour about a Tim Horton's at EPCOT, SyracuseWolvrine.

And one of them just posted! Hey, Julie! :p

Wow, Tims gets mentioned, and we've already got ourselves a coffee club brewing! :D

LOL Kim! ;)

Wouldn't that be the perfect spot for all future Canadian DIS meets at WDW! :chat:

I personally want to thank Tim's for increasing their tea prices by 50% for me. I haven't bought a cup of tea there since they did this and I've been putting the $3.00 a day (2 XL @ $1.50) into a bank. I have over $100.00 to do with whatever I want. I guess it will be converted to some US money.:bounce:

I just bring my own tea bags and milk from home and I'm good to go. Someone bought me a cup of the steeped tea to try and it is awful. Tastes like no name tea to me. (but apparently the flavour can change from one cup to the next)

I keep hoping that they'll see the light but I suppose not because they don't care, they're raking in mega bucks from the increase in price.

Scratch--they make awesome Kona coffee at the Kona Cafe in the Polynesian. It's a must do on every trip for us now.

Ugh, steeped tea sucks :crazy2:. I'd love to get their ice caps at disney though!

I think the beaver tails will be missed. They sure did have a following :D

If the rumor is true; hope they have the iced cap.
What is better on a hot sunny Florida afternoon than a Timmies Iced Cap
:teeth:

I could live without Timmies coffee and steeped tea, but their iced caps, english toffee or french vanilla cappaccinos would be wonderful and a daily retreat for me in Epcot.
I don't eat their donuts anymore since they changed to not making them fresh everyday (they come in frozen). They just don't taste the same.
Jo

This would be great if they do nothing like a nice Old Fashined Plain from Timmies.

I know this thread has turned into a who like what at Timmies... btw, can't live without my Timmie's coffee in the morning... but....

What about the Beavertails??? I love those too and make a point of getting one everytime I"m in Ottawa... which is a whole lot.

I was just telling a friend of mine the other day that all the Cdn pavilion needs is a Tim Horton's, but they better no get rid of the Beavertails.

EvilQueen - just noticed that your interview is coming up soon. Good luck!:)

Wouldn't putting a Tim's in the Canadian pavillion be a little redundant?

I mean, really, get rid of the O Canada film, and just build a Tim's - It's a Canadian pavillion all on its own!

And those dark brown and beige uniforms are way more traditional Canadian dress than the bush jackets anyday!!

Wow! If this rumour is true, my DD would love it! She works for Tim Horton's and would love the opportunity to finally get a chance to work at Disney! lol
