We were talking about Disney and he was asking where does all sewage (poo-poo) go that Disney generates? Do they have their own wastewater treatment plant?

What do you think those turkey legs are made out of?

This was initiated by the poo watch thread wasn't it? Right? Right? Right?

Maybe mono~rail's neighbors take it???

Yes they do, actually. It is back by the Tree Farm. YEARS ago when I was a CM I taught a seminar called Innovations in Action. Part of the tour we would take groups past the waste water treatment plant to the tree farm and then on to the recycling center.

I can tell you in DETAIL what happens when you flush at WDW! :rotfl:

If I didn't know any better I'd swear your DH and my DSis were related. She has a complete fascination with poo. Good thing she doesn't read these boards! :rotfl:

Well I am pretty sure it is the same process that happens at most Waste Water Treatment plants with a few extra touches...

From what I remember from my spiel, here is the nutshell version...

All waste is taken by pipes to the central plant where the solids are separated from the liquids. The liquids are chlorinated and de-chlorinated then used to irrigate the landscaping. Those signs that say "Reclaimed Water in use" aren't kidding! The solids/sludge are then fluffed with wood chips in giant fluffers then set out in the hot Florida sun to "cure" (it REEKS!). Once it is properly cured then it is used as fertilizer/mulch all over Disney property.

Hope that helps!

UGH! I did the "Kings to the Kingdom" tour Summer of '05. It seems the futher down in the bowels(sorry it was just to easy!) of the first floor, the more uh, noticeable the smell from the pipes.

As long as I don't see any corn mixed in, I can deal with fluffed poo!

I wonder if the buses are there trying a new fuel source.
