Interesting presents

Nothing exciting here but my DMIL gave me the exact same necklace and earrings that she gave me last year. I thought they looked familiar so when I checked this morning... yup they are exactly the same. The worst part is that the chain on the necklace is super short. I think it must be designed for a little girl. I have a fairly skinny neck and it fits like a choker. It just has one little 3 diamond charm on it and the earrings have the same design.

I forgot to mention the best gift of all. My eccentric book store owner brother got me a book called 'How to be a Woman'. Hmmmm? Not sure what he's implying there :confused3

Maybe he discussed with your DH the slinky Victoria Secret's nighty. ;) :rotfl:

If it was me, I would find them, take the receipt and return them, then buy something for me. My DH would never notice!:lmao:

If I were a receipt keeper, I would do just that. I might just use them myself as I need a thumb drive for work. Maybe I can return them for store credit? I'll have to find the policy for Radio Shack.

A few days before Christmas my husband kept telling me, "Wait until you see what I put in your stocking" He was so excited, which got me so excited because normally we don't do much in the stockings (maybe a card & a bag of M&M's for him and a bag of Reese cups for me) So I couldn't wait to open my stocking.

Yesterday morning I open it up. And there was my bag of Reese cups (which he knows that I haven't had a candy bar since June and don't have any plans on eating them again anytime soon) and two tiny bottles of hand sanitizer from Crabtree & Evelyn. First of all, I have NO IDEA where he would even get stuff from this place and out of the 24 yrs we've been together, I MAY have used hand sanitizer MAYBE once or twice and I really don't even think it was in front of him. So I don't know where that idea came from and I don't know why he would think that I would use it. :confused3 Just caught me off guard since I thought I was getting a kickass stocking. Not so much. :rotfl:
I want to give up sugar. Last Lent I gave up Chocolate chip cookies and I
I literally cried, cause it was so hard. What are some side effects.

My BIL (25) got us two huge boxes (think Sams' club size) of dishwsh detergent pods. I love it! We use them in our new dishwasher, but the closest place to get them is over an hour away from us.

From my in-laws, my younger daughter got an adorable cloak and hat for an American girl doll. The problem with this gift? She's SEVENTEEN!!! And a senior in high school. Her American Girl dolls were put away years ago. She was gracious, though. I was proud of her. :)

I didn't get anything that interesting this year, closest thing would have to be a velour outfit with flowered jacket, pants and a turtleneck. It would have been fine if I wore velour outfits or turtlenecks

I would have loved that, though I would have prefered Daryl. :rotfl2:

they only make 4 different ones.
rick, daryl, rv walker and bicycle girl.

i'm not a rick fan but am a daryl fan.

son bought the rick vinyl as they are difficult to get he said.

I bought me a new point & shoot camera as mine was over 10 years old.

My oldest has gifts for us, he says, but we got back late Christmas eve from the hospital with him, as he had major surgery to rebuild his hip & leg last Friday.

My "best BFF" decided I wasn't her friend anymore earlier this month & that left my younger two with out an adult shopping partner. course I have all their gifts to return!

My dad is giving me his old GPS as he upgraded. I work 2 jobs & am raising 2 teens. I don't go anywhere but it may be useful if I do!

Mine was from ds13. He was very excited to give it to me. It's a pie server-spatula thingy that looks like a high heel shoe. It came in a pretty box of leopard skin and faux pink fur.

Cute that DS thought I'd love it but so...not me. Of course I DO love it because he was so proud of it. I will be making a pie for some company this week. I don't usually make pies.

My inlaws bought me one of these for Christmas 5+ years ago. I keep it in a high cupboard with rarley used kitchen items. On Sunday I hosted dinner for my DH's family and my mother and stepfather also were there. My mom was up in the cupboard putting the electric carving knife away when she grabbed the shoe and said "what is THIS thing" or something to that effect and waved the shoe around. :rotfl2: I tried not to laugh as I explained that it was a cake server all the while avoiding eye contact with my mother in law.

Yeah I have seen those, they are cool. I think I posted pictures of them on the Walking Dead thread here. :)

I received a single bar of very stinky handmade soap (not made by the giver). This stuff smells so bad I wouldn't punish anyone by regifting it. :crazy2:

What I can't figure out is how the person who made the soap would ever think it smelled good, and then how the person who bought it for me could feel the same way. :confused3

A crank powered weather radio. And no, it wasn't on my wish list.

I got DH one of these. I got it after Sandy. It was an extra and he loved it. As soon as he opened it, he said we need this and wanted to play with it.

A gift pack containing 4 jars of fancy olives. Supposedly from a gourmet shop, but I'll bet the person bought it at TJMaxx or Marshall's or somewhere similar as the remains of the telltale difficult-to-remove price tag were still attached.
