Interesting New Toys?

You are (of course) right!!! Haven't tried the filter one yet. Do you like it?
i have only used it a few times but i think i like it enough that tightwad that i am i probably will spend the $75 to buy it:lmao: it just seems to work along the lines i think along... always a dangerous thing... and has little workflow etc hints right on the bottom of the screen as you use something so no looking at help or where ever. i do not see any cataloging thing though so not sure what you would do there but i can see myself getting rid of my elements for sure since this seems a one stop place for everything from raw conversion to editing:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

lens cap threads are imo a pain since i hate things brushing against me and me thinking it 's a spider or something..i've only lost one cap so far ever without the string things. i always just put whatever end cap i took off on and try to keep the lens cap in my pocket so i know where it is...well sort of i usually forget which pocket but i can find it eventually

Slightly OT, but does the camera store at MK still sell those lens caps with Mickey's visage printed on the front? I think that'd make a nice accessory for some of us forum regulars, or at least a nice stocking stuffer for a Disney photo buff.

I bought one of those last february when I was down, unfortunately it wouldn't work with my lens because of the lens hood being on in the inverted position.., so i returned it...I was very disappointed..

I experimented with velcro to take care of my lens cap (and started a thread on it, way back when I first started posting here :) )... some "loop" velcro on an empty spot on the left side of my DSLR body, and some "hook" velcro on the middle of the lens cap. Stick the cap onto the side, it stays attached very well, and the black velcro blends in so you don't even notice it when it's not there, and the lens cap generally doesn't get in the way at all when it's stuck on the body.

For some reason, I've found myself jamming the lens cap into my pocket again lately though. :confused3

No new photography toys... unless you could finding my father and grandfather's old Kodak Signet cameras, which date from the late 1950s. My father's was a Signet 40 and my grandfather's was a Signet 50. The 50 has a much larger viewfinder than the 40, but no focusing aids, while the 40 viewfinder is tiny (and fogged somewhat by age) but has rangefinder focusing. Yesterday, I finished putting a roll through the Signet 40 (using my DSLR as a lightmeter) and dropped it off, I'll be picking it up Friday to see how they turned out.

I also finally fixed my homemade Tic-Tac remote shutter release properly once and for all, after an overly-stretched ground wire snapped on the plug end. I had to spend a few minutes undoing the existing connections, cutting the end of the wires, and basically started over, but this time it's on there sturdy and should last a good long time. I may pull the other end apart one of these days and add a sliding switch (for very long exposures), but I'm in no rush and I don't really have a need for one at this time.

Still no new toys to report. However, the 718 page B&H Photo "Digital Photography Sourcebook" catalog just came in the mail.

I remember when I was a kid, the Sears toy catalog used to come in the mail before Christmas. It feels like that all over again.
