I am into home made food items when I have time. I make pickles and sometimes sell them at farm markets. Right now at home I am making and loving yogurt. I am also making cashew milk. It is very good. I would love to try new things that are fairly healthy or at least nothing artificial.

Not sure I would call it health food but I make a mean bohemian potato dumpling. Also fresh giardinera.

We make most things at home. I make breakfast pockets, hot pockets, pizza rolls, breads, buns, etc. The thing most are shocked at is that we grind our own meats. We spent last Sunday making sausages. We made bratwurst, Italian, breakfast, apple, and a sundried tomato w/ garlic. I just figure that if they can make it at the store, then I can make it at home cheaper and healthier.

Homemade yogurt (Okay so I mostly just "help" my parents make it, but it's easy and very good!).

And I make my own bread sometimes.

I make homemade apple butter - yummy!

Also, strawberry freezer jam straight from the farm.

Well I make hummus. (certainly not as interesting as the others)

Homemade hummus is very good. I find tamales impressive. I have never made apple butter but I have made several kinds of freezer jam. Very yum. My grandmother had a clamp on meat grinder. She did her own ground beef but also everything that was a leftover became some type of croquette or cake.
I will definitely try marshmallows. I would love to do flour but I'd have to upgrade my blender. I do bread and pizza dough but have never thought of trying pockets. I want to try coconut or cashew milk yogurt. I'm a little intimidated because it seems you need thickeners.

LOVE experimenting with homemade "things".

We've made homemade cheeses (Velveeta and ricotta), sauces, salsas, cured meats, marshmallows and marshmallow fluff, seasonings (like taco seasoning), breads, and we once made our own sausage (THAT was fun).

Gets me into a bind because as soon as you go homemade, your family insists on it. :lmao:

we can, so it can vary year to year. right now I've got apple sauce (both sugar free, but half the batch is cinnamon), apple butter, green beans, and tomatoes. we do our own sausage (plain, Italian, and Andouille) with the meat grinder attachment on the kitchen aide. bread once in a while. smoked salmon once in a blue moon.

we could do our own flour and butters (nut) cuz we have one of the old school vitamix machines (when they were made of all metal with the reversible blades so you can also make ice cream and hot soup), but we've never been inclined to do so.
