No trace of WMD in Iraq, no link between Saddam and Osama, terror gets worse in Iraq from day to day, transfer of control without being in control, nearly 1000 GIs dead, etc.
People who don't see that Bush and his cronies have damaged America's reputation worldwide have lost any touch to reality. Let's just hope that the majority of the American voters makes the right decision - OK, they already did last time, but it didn't work out :teeth:

Ex-diplomats are allowed their opinion, just as I am allowed mine. I am not sure why they feel the need to band together and publicize their opinion, as if they think it would have more influence than mine, but if it makes them happy, it's OK with me;) .

Tried to keep it a "short post" Pop!!!!!!!

Welll...their opinion would generally count for more simply because they are probably a bit more informed on the issues than you or I, by nature of their having worked in their respective fields. What you're basically saying is the equivalent of "I don't care what doctors say, I'm having bacon and fried foods at every meal...It won't hurt....Now pass me my cigarettes" :)

Except that foreign policy is a very subjective matter. Comparing it to a doctor's analysis of fried foods is not helpful or illustrative.

Well, my grandfather lived to 94 doing that. :smooth:

Why did Germany vote yes on the handover, then? In fact, I think the vote was 15-0 if I'm not mistaken. It appears a number of nations don't see it they way you do.

It seems as if even the conservative news shows are finding fault with Bush now. Bill O'Reilly seems to even agree that Bush botched things with the war, Do you watch his show?:D

That's relevant, how? That'd be like saying Katie Couric is finding fault with Kerry. I'm not seeing how that matters.

As for Bill O'Rielly, if there is a more pompous, self absorbed, arrogant, condescending blowhard on the air I've yet run across them.

but if we vote Bush out, the terrorists will have won. even though there's no link between Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. the Iraqi war was about 9/11, wasn't it?

instead of making jokes about "freedom fries" we should be trying to repair our damaged relationships with our allies.

Perhaps because they realize the U.S. policy in Iraq is failing miserably, that the U.S. cannot be trusted to uphold human rights as outlined by the U.N., and because they feel the Iraqi people would be better off without the U.S. appointed governing counsel.

I think U.N. member nations understand that turning their back on Iraq is not an appropriate course of action even if they disagree with the U.S. pre-emptive attack on the nation.

following that logic..it stands to reason that our intelligence community knows best because they work in that field, therefore why does anyone believe the democrats that are saying we went to war based on bad intelligence...

how could a politician possibly know more than the intelligence people who provided the pre-war info...

Ummm, Arabella, are you really saying that if we vote Bush out the terrorists will have won? Surely you don't mean that. The President of the United States has many more responsiblities than just the war in Iraq. The terrorists will win if Americans don't travel, or fly, or attend sporting events, or go to the mall, or go to July 4th events, or WDW, or anything else that we like to do. That's when the terrorists will have won. Keeping Bush as our President is letting the Christian Right win, IMO.

the Iraqi people aren't fighting us..terrorist insurgents are, because they don't want us in the Middle East....if we run from Iraq..or vote Bush out becaause of that war..it will be a moral victory for the terrorists because they have weakened the resolve of the American people...it will prove that all anyone has to do is kill a few hundred American soldiers and we will withdraw our troups. that is their goal..they know there is no way they could actually defeat us..but if they terrorize us into withdrawing and changing our leader...

YES they have won

If I tell you I'm a Kerry campaign worker, will that answer your question?

 usually means sarcasm around here.

Mickey88, I don't think anyone has been terrorized into not voting for Bush. I like to think people are finally seeing what a mess he got us into and finally are coming to their senses. I'll only be terrorized if he IS re-elected.:teeth:
