During Cruise Director Rick's pre-Disney Dreams monologue (on the 11/7 3-day trip), he mentioned the possibility of "new itineraries, new ships and possibly TWO days on Castaway Cay" in the future. I don't remember him saying anything like this last January. Any comments. anyone?

I heard similar comments from CDR in October 4day. Seems like they are letting more and more information out as the announcement date draws nearer. Did I hear February for an announcement of some sort?

Also, does anyone think CD Rick talks a bit much? ;) Great guy! But my kids fell asleep during his monologue before Hercules and they missed the show as a result. :p

As a DVC member, we were sent info on a DVC member only cruise on 2/1 - 2/6? It was going to only go to Castaway Cay for 2 days. Maybe thats what he meant?

at the 10/17/03 sailing, CC reception, captain henry (or is it harry?) had also mentioned that due to many comments from past cruisers, that DCL was looking into somehow giving folks more than one day at CC per cruise. I think DCL is really looking at this as an option!

Ok, maybe I'm in the minority here...I like CC but 2 days? One is plenty for me.

We would LOVE LOVE LOVE two days at CC!!!!!! We always are so exhausted from trying to not miss a moment of enjoying our time there. If we had two days, we could relax more and take our time. We love the bike ride (just wish they made the trail longer and had it 'loop' back to the start).

Back from the Magic on 11/9...

When asked about future itineraries and ships, Captain Tom said that no decisions have been made re either. Just keep the comments and suggestions coming in, he said; they welcome cruisers' input. Rumors are flying, though, even from crew members. Our server told us that there was going to be a West Coast itinerary. The cruise director slipped in something about a northern itinerary when asking if there were any passengers from Canada.

We asked one of the ship's officers at the Castaway Club reception if the ships would fit through the Panama Canal (wouldn't a repositioning cruise be a blast!) to move one to the West Coast, and he said yes. He also said that if a third ship was built it would probably be along the lines of the current ones, and definitely not one of the mega-liners. He was non-committal, though, about future itineraries.

Fun to speculate!!!

I think they are having too much fun spreading these evil rumors! :jester:

No you are not the minority. We did this on the "Mystery Western Cruise - 9/28" - that never made it to the Western instead hit San Juan, St. Thomas and two days at CC - one was enough for us.

One of the reasons we booked the DVC Member Cruise was because it was going to spend two days at Castaway Cay.(it will make up for the time we missed on our first cruise :) ).

I'm really looking forward to it.

Maybe they are using the Member Cruise as a test and if everyone likes it (or a majority like it) make it more regular.

Maybe they are going to announce the new plans on the Member cruise....it's in February......

I would love to go to Castaway Cay for two days......it is definitely the reason I love sailing Disney instead of other cruise lines.

I'm curious, how may points was the cruise for the 2 days in Castaway Cay? When I got the postcard I was intrigued. We really wanted to do it but already booked the Eastern for 1/25 - 2/1 and couldn't take DD6 out of school for another week.
I normally don't like using my points for the cruise since you need sooooo many.

The cruise was slightly more points than the regular 4 day sailing at the same time which caused quite an uproar on the DVC board. We felt it was worth it as it will be a special cruise of which the 2 days at CC are just a part. We paid 116 points each for an Oceanview stateroom on deck 7.

A lot of others must have agreed with us as the cruise sold out in about a day and a half!

Please enough about the DVC member cruise. Of course it sold out, there are 60,000 plus members to fill a ship would only need 4% of members to go. That is why it sold out within 48 hours.

The Disney cruise is awesome and I recommend everybody go on it by whatever means possible.

Thank you

I missed the info about the two day CC cruise. I'm curious, I noticed when we took the bike ride late in the day that CC has huge inland bogs. I noticed also that these bogs seemed to be full of mosquitos, got two bites. After reading statements that the ships do not stay at CC late due to the hordes of insects that come out at night, when are the two days? Does the ship stay docked? I for one would love two days at CC, but I know an evening there would end up sending me home with a very itchy remembrance.

Usual 4 day cruise is:
Nassau
Castaway Cay
Day at Sea or Freeport

DVC Member cruise is:
Castaway Cay
Nassau
Castaway Cay

We are going to spend 95% of the time in Nassau on the ship. I want to get off long enough to go to Del Sol and buy some gifts for the girls in my office. The rest of the time we'll be treating it as a day at sea!
