Interesting Account from Bin Laden Compound Raid

I was reading an article where it cited John Brennan (Presidents top counterterrorism adviros) as stating that when the seals entered the room where Bin Laden was hiding that "bin Laden used a woman as a human shield and returned fire. The SEALs killed bin Laden with a bullet to the head."

I guess I shouldn't be surprised but this did surprise me.

That might be true... I'm sure she believed in "the cause" but it still makes him a cowardice piece of crap for hiding behind a woman.

I don't know. I've already received infractions/points for stating my opinion so I'm trying to stay mum about this but IMHO it's no more an act of cowardliness as it is to shoot the woman being used as a shield. I'm not saying she was shot just expressing my view. I just find all of it gross.

Well, flying planes into the WTC- Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania was pretty gross too. Not to mention the USS Cole, the first WTC bombing and all of the other terrorist attacks he planned, funded and carried out.

Would your husband use you as a shield or would he throw his body over yours to protect you!?!? Big difference there, don't you think? Reports say that Bin Laden USED HER AS A SHIELD, not that she threw herself in front of Bin Laden to protect him.

And what spin? In that country, they strap bombs to women and send them into grocery stores. You think that Bin Laden is going to protect a woman over himself?! Please ....

Amen!! Most men would protect their women and put themselves in harm's way and that's the difference. If that report is correct and he grabbed her and put her in front of him to protect him, then he is a coward for sure!

News reports said it was intense firefight. To me, it sounds like it was more guns a'blazing than it was a single shot to just one person. I'm sure if it were as easy as not having to kill the woman, they would've found another way to kill him. If it was rapidfire all over the place, chances are the woman had no chance whatsoever, human shield or not. It's not like they just blew her away for the sake of blowing her away. If they could've just taken one hit to get rid of him without harming her, I'm sure they would've. If she was used as a shield, he used her for his cowardliness and if it was intense firefight, she had zero chance as a human shield.

Now, if this woman threw herself on him to protect him, they'd do whatever it took to get him even if it meant killing his protectors.

Just one low life move after another. My husband would not allow me to be a shield. Ever. What kind of person tries to spin a murder/terrorist scumball as a decent sort who tried to stop his wife from taking a bullet for him?

Yeah, not sure why this action by him would surprise anyone. He murdered thousands of innocent people--women and children included--without any regard. Why are people surprised when a snake strikes?

And, in my opinion, this woman knew who he was and what he stood for. She deserved whatever she got--whether she threw herself in front of him or was pulled in front of him. Not finding much sympathy for those who are guilty by association.

I heard on the news that his security staff was ordered by OBL to kill him if it looked like the US was going to kill him. Glad that plan failed. I'm glad the last thing he saw was a US soldier holding a gun pointing at his head.

I don't know why anyone would be suprised by it. Women have no value in thier culture, and using women and children as human shields has been par for the couse for muslim extremists for many years. Agian, they are completely expendable to them.
