Interested in the concept of DVC....

Anyone know of any "promos" for touring a DVC property? Or, any incentives for visiting a DVC property while staying at a Disney Resort?

For example, Marriott Vacation Club, offers promo deals for visiting there properties..

Thanks...Would love to see a propery..The concept sounds great!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Where are the DVC booths? Any around Epcot? Supposedly offering incentives for Animal Kingdom and Saratoga Springs? Do you actually take a tour of for example Animal Kingdom?

Also read that they used to give you a $50 promo card or gift card?

Is that still the case?

Thx in advance!:goodvibes

There are DVC booths in every Disney theme park and DTD and you can arrange a tour through them. They will arrange to collect you from anywhere on Disney property and return you to a place that suits you. The tour is at Saratoga Springs resort but Saratoga also has room models of the rooms at Animal Kingdom Villas.

As far as incentives go, you are likely to get some fastpasses and free ice-cream. We also got a $15 gift card each as we were unable to use the fast passes due to flying home the next morning.

The tour is great with no pressure at all to buy so if you are interested in the DVC concept then I'd certainly recommend it.:)

There are DVC booths in all (I'm pretty sure) of the parks and in some of the hotels. When you sign up for a tour of DVC, they bring you to Saratoga Springs Resort where they speak to you, show you some videos, get a tour of Saratoga Springs, and then they show you the model rooms of what Animal Kingdom Lodge looks like. Whether you buy or not at that time, you will get ice cream at the end (oh yes, and coffee and pastries during the tour, I forgot because i didnt have any of that), and they gave us each a fast pass card. Each card had three fast passes, but they work differently than when you put your park ticket in the fast pass machine. When you put the fast pass ticket in the machine, instead of a ticket coming out with the time displayed, the fastpass comes out with the current time! Pretty nice deal. We tried to go use ours at Toy Story Mania, but by then the fast passes where all given out for the day. So we then used them on Rockin Rollar Coaster and went on multiple times with zero wait. Pretty Nice deal. :cool1:

I know there is a DVC booth over by the United States pavilion and one on the right heading into World Showcase from Future World. You can also try walking or taking the boat from International Gateway over to Boardwalk. I think they still have the DVC sample rooms, etc. SSR will definitely take you around.

i know that my reps was very pressure-less. It was really a very informationaly tour and never felt like a "sales pitch."

Also, there is child care offered for kids 3 and over, which is nice for us mommies and daddies!

We Toured at DLR this week and got nothing. :confused3

And they don't have to pressure you, they know if you want it badly enough, you will buy it.

And we wouldn't be there if we didn't want it.

:thumbsup2

We are going to be going down in Jan for marathon weekend. Anyone know if I should book a tour before we leave, or can I do it while Im there and know my schedule better? Is it like we could just walk up to any kiosk and say "take me on a tour please?"
TIA!

It is very simple to just book the tour while you are there. There will be a kiosk at each resort. We booked ours at the resort and had them pick us up at a specified time at the AmAdv in EPCOT. This way we got to see a little bit of the behind the scenes stuff at EPCOT.

There usually is some incentive for attending the tour......when I went they gave us $100 Disney dollars that we then turned around and used at DTD when they dropped us off after the tour. Also ate some real good ice cream at SSR! :goodvibes Plan on about 2 hours for the tour.

The DVC booth's are all over the place. Just walk up to one and say that you want to take the tour. It will probably take about 2-3 hours. We were given fast passes and vouchers for meals. We were also given trading pins. I never felt pressured. It was something that I had already been interested in for a long time.

This last winter, and the summer two years before that, we were not given meal vouchers, but the instant fast pass cards. These included 3 passes per person, to be used at the fast pass kiosks within 4 days of when they're given to you.

I'll add that they will schedule your tour so you are picked up from anywhere on site by the DVC van & dropped off afterward to anywhere on site that you'd like to go. This, plus the fast passes, really makes it so you're not spending that much time out of your day if you were going to be traveling between sites anyway. The frustrating part of the van ride was that it seemed to take forever to get from AK to SSR where the office is currently located.

Q: If you do decide to buy during the tour, how much time is added on to that already spent there? Asking as there's an excellent chance I'll be signing papers this time around.

I am not sure about this but I was told that you are not allowed to purchase when you take the tour. We made the decision to purchase when we took the tour but called back 2 days later and made our down payment.

My DH and I purchased while we were down there two weeks ago. It took us about 3 hours total, from pick up at hotel until drop off at Hollywood Studios...and brand new DVC members :goodvibes
The signing of all the papers didnt take that long because we knew before we went on the tour that it was for us.
