Interacting with characters

My oldest daughter was telling me that she had heard some of the characters in Galaxy's Edge will interact with guests. On ROtR, walking around the land, etc. Are there certain things that one can say or do to possibly get characters to react?

I know with covid and such these interactions are not as much as they were say back in 2019, but curiosity is tugging at me.

For what it's worth, I am absolutely not versed in Star Wars. However, I am aware that some CMs in ROTR can be in character as part of the bad group and interact with guests in a way that ... was clearly really well-done as cast members in a show (and if you're unfamiliar with the show, you may wonder wt- just happened). I was mouth-drop aghast when I heard a CM be super rude to a kid in front of me (and then me) - and it's part of the show because you're suspected as being part of the good group and they were the bad group. My guess is that if you know more than I do, you may be able to provoke a reaction from some CMs. I also think that for those who know as little as I do (generally and/or about SW), a little bit of a warning would've been super helpful. For instance, I know that if I'm going to 50s PTC, I may interact with CMs who are playing a role in a specific show. I didn't know that about ROTR ...

Are there certain things that one can say or do to possibly get characters to react?

You can greet them with "Bright suns". You can wave and say "Hello, their name". I've found that if you block the path of a Stormtrouper they will "question" your loyality. Even pointing a camera at them will create an interaction. On RotR ask, "What am I doing here?" or "Where are you taking us?"

ROTR during the interrogation portion the cast members have always interacted with us . Have your phone out they’ll ask if you’re trying to communicate with the Resistance. Stormtroopers used to stop guests and ask them for ID. The original idea for GE was a more immersive experience between characters and guests. First time there for passholders preview the rebel spy with the blue hair (Vi Moradi) asked my daughter and I to help her hide from the first order. Later in the day they arrested her but she got out and ran off. Rey was also very interactive. Ever since then interaction has been more limited and with the pandemic much less. Seems like a lot of their ideas for making your own story at GE were scrapped and are being put into place for the Starship Cruiser. Batuu has a very interesting history that includes Anakin, Padme and Grand Admiral Thrawn amongst other popular characters. This was from passholder preview sorry they’re sideways

since Covid I've seen a couple of stormtroopers on the stage near Kylo's ship, and Rey with Chewie on the roof of the speeder garage. But I have not seen them mix with guests.
If you go up to the troopers they will "lecture" you, and Rey was talking with guests from the roof.

Yes, the CMs in ROTR interact with you (note if you are in an ECV or wheelchair, their demeanor slightly changes when asking you various things-like can you transfer, but then they immediately snap back into it once they know everyone is safe and good to go.
Ore pandemic, Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren walked around a lot. They had that first order entrance as well. Cherie I have never not seen fixing some sort of ship.
Post pandemic, more or less they are either fixing something or up high. Didn’t see Kylo walking around at all or the entrance at all. Depending on where they are, they will interact with you. A lot of kids got a kick out of Rey fixing something.
only saw one stormtrooper sighting and it was just them patrolling.

I realized that most of the characters would not be walking around with the rest of us. I'm just trying to figure out now what to say to the first order on ROtR.
