I was having a discussion with a friend of mine, who is a well respected professional, about our future vacations. He is a Marriott owner at the Sea World location. I asked whether he was going to visit WDW and he said that he was thinking of visiting Epcot. I then mentioned that we were really looking forward to seeing all the shows in the WS. His reply, "They have shows in Epcot?"

I've always known that there are people who do not prepare for WDW, but I was shocked to actually have one for a friend!:jester:

You are NOT alone on that boat! I have had family and friends that are the very same way. I have turned my family around for the most part, now all I have to do is work on my friends...LOL

Good Luck!

I feel your pain. My best friend just asked me why would she ever want to go to Disney since it's just for kids. :earseek:

I have a co-worker that just came back.

Quite some time ago, I told her to make some PS's so she wouldn't have to wait in line for dinners & b'fasts. She said "I don't think I'll need to do that" and went to WDW without one PS.

DUH

She came back and said "I wish I listened to you. There were tons of lines for the restaurants".

DUH...........IT'S DISNEYWORLD FOR GOD'S SAKE!!

re: Intelligent yet clueless I thought you were posting a question for me!! heheh

Okay, at the risk of sounding clueless - what shows? Are you referring to Illuminations? If so, I wouldn't instinctively consider that a show. When I think of a "show", I think of Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Tarzan, etc.

Am I clueless? :( What shows are you referring to?

Those intelligent but clueless people are everywhere!

I have one friend who just got back from WDW & was showing pics of her boys at a character dinner. Another friend said character dinners were "kind of like Chuck E Cheese". Um, not even close!!

The WS performers, there is a live show in front of the American Pavillion, there are choral groups inside the American Pavillion, I consider Illuminations to be a show.

A "show" does not have to be in a theater. :)

I guess as long as all those folks are having a nice time on their vacations, we shouldn't care, right? Last year I was just cringing and biting my tongue when a friend was telling me about her family's trip to WDW...although it was in July, in 3 days they were able to see "everything" at all 4 parks. Whatever...not my vacation.

Thanks for the info, EsmeraldaX. I can, however see how someone may seem clueless about "shows" at WS, as the shows you mentioned are not as well known or discussed as others. I love WS, and have been there at least 8 times in the last five years, and I wasn't aware of these shows other than Illuminations and also the Beatles band (forget their name) in UK.

I do agree there are many people seemingly oblivious to many things Disney, but I think in this case the OP should cut his friend some slack:) :)

My fellow DISers, we are definitely a breed apart...

They know not what they miss.
