Insurance?

I am not usually one to buy insurance on a trip but I was thinking I probably should buy it for my trip in October. Hurricane season!

I can't find any of those cards that are included in my reservation envelope. Does anybody have a copy they can give me info from? Or perhaps mail me? Can I just call MS on Monday and get a copy? I can't remember how much it even costs...any info would be helpful.

The reimbursement is only $5 per point and you don't keep the points. The cost is the reimbursement amount x 5.15%, minimum $29. So if you are using 150 points, the reimbursement would be 150 x $5 = $750. The cost would be $750 x 5.15% = $38.63. Unless you will be at the end of your use year and would not have time to reschedule, I don't think it's worth it. You could the rent points for alot more than $5.

Also, DVC has always been pretty liberal with restoring points due to emergencies like hurricanes and 9/11. Of course, it is not guaranteed they will do it again but it's likely.

If they would come up with insurance where your points were restored to their use years, I think more people would buy it.
