its better to have the insurance, you never know when something could go wrong, like the old saying says, its better to be safe than sorry.there's a lot of money involved when taking a cruise.
In 35 Disney cruises, we have never gotten the insurance and have thankfully never needed it. But we do fly out the night before in order to leave ourselves a little breathing room, and our charge card offers luggage insurance. I did have a medical emergency on the ship once, and we had to pay for it up front, but thankfully my medical insurance reimbursed us 100 percent. Check out the coverage that you have on your medical policy and credit cards to help you decide if you need coverage. If you decide to get it, you can probably find it cheaper on your own than through Disney. Just be sure to choose a reputable company.
