Insurance vent

I just need to do a little vent on insurance companies. I found out earlier this week that the company that we have our homeowners insurance through is folding and no longer doing business, bad business techniques or not enough business, who knows why they’re closing. So, I told my wife we’ll just have to find another insurance company and get the best rate we can. You want to know what she told me? “There are no more insurance companies left on the Cape.” Say what?! Apparently Cape Cod is overdue for a hurricane, the last one being hurricane Bob in ’91. And since no insurance company wants to pay out they all pulled out. And you want to know what gets me the most? I understand the whole point of insurance, paying for something you hope you never need, but that’s just it - I paid for something that I never used….I WANT MY MONEY BACK DARNIT!!!! So, like many parts of Florida we have to get our insurance through the state. We’re paying slightly above what we’re paying now, so it’s not that bad…just irritating. Thanks for listening to me vent.

Yeah...they have NO problem TAKING our money do they??? I don't understand the people that never make a claim either. My ex fil has never made an insurance claim of any kind. He's 70...he's paid in all that money and would never make a ligitimate claim b/c he was afraid they would raise his rates talk about !!! At least the state isn't much more$...
