Got some last minute jitters here.

Just checked and my travel insurance does not cover me using the ECV. I am from the UK going to Disney World in Floriday.

I am renting my scooter from Walker Mobility and they do not offer insurance.

If I run into someone by accident will they sue me? I do not own my house, I do not have any savings and in fact live on benefits so I cannot afford to be sued.

Am I just worrying about something that will not happen?

Bottom line, you need to be extra careful as to not run into someone. If they jump into your path, then in essence they have caused the accident. But if you are going to fast, or can't control your scooter because you aren't used to using one and hit someone where clearly you are at fault, you could indeed be sued.

That said, you can't get blood from a stone.

If you have no assets and no insurance, it would be pointless taking you to court.

Many years ago, someone ran into my car and demolished it while it was parked outside my home. That person had no insurance (nor a drivers licence) and was found guilty of dangerous driving.

Because he was unemployed with no assets and living on benefits, my lawyer advised me that as he was a 'man of straw' nothing would be gained by taking him to court.

Also, what you would do would have to be not only very bad to them to cause severe injuries, which would be extremely unlikely, but then for someone in the US to try to sue someone in UK for personal injuries, especially someone who is "judgement-proof" as you would appear to be, would be an exercise in futility. They would also need to show you had intent to injure.
