Here in Massachusetts we don't have insurance cards. What can I show a rental car agency that will show I have insurance. This is my first time renting a car and I hear other people saying they just show their insurance card which I've heard other states have but not Massachusetts. So what do MA people show to prove proof of insurance?

Make a copy of the current coverage selections page your insurance company sends you each year. Should you need to produce proof of insurance, that will work just fine with the rental car companies.

A Declarations Page from you insurance policy will do. In Massachusetts, your insurance company is stamped on the back of your vehicle registration. At least it was 21 years ago when I last lived there.

The jury is still out as far as proof of insurance for collision. But as far as I know, the rental collision coverage is still optional although you must be prepared to argue long (but not loud).

Many people do not carry collision. Many people should not carry collision, notably on inexpensive cars more than about 6 years old.

Florida law does not require collision insurance contrary to what some rental agents say.

Only once have I been asked who my insurance agent was. Was never asked for, nor have I ever brought any proof of insurance.
