Instantly approved for disney visa!

thanks for the links, those were two very interesting articles (well forums but...lol) i cant believe they are actually denying people because it wont make them money.

currently from what I am hearing is, Chase is not accepting APplications for people with EXCELLENT credit... I am not saying OP doesnt have EX Credit! I am just saying from what I have heard and read they want people who owe money right now and those are the cards that are getting approved.
I have a disney credit card that I have had for about 6 years, its just in my name. We recently got the 200 dollar gift card offer... Our credit score is 850... so my hubby and I applied for it...and they denied it. We have no debt... and a high credit score...so I think the what I have heard is true.
I guess they know they have more of a chance to make money off of someone that currently has debt. Sucks for people who just want the card for the financing for disney though. :sad2: One day hopefully this crappy economy will turn around.

Same thing with me. Both I and DH are in the 800's. We owe only on a 185K mortgage. We make 150K per year. No car loan, no CC and we were denied:confused3

:confused3 We just received an offer for that $150 reward card with first use so went online and applied. DH was approved immediately, then I applied and it said they would let me know. I had just gotten a new MC with a 0% rate (I always do that when I know I have a big purchase coming up and want to make it easy on myself to pay off) so I figured it would reject me. I didn't even know it was on the way until I happened to be checking my other Chase account and noticed the new Disney one on there. We don't owe a penny to anyone other than the mortgage co. so that theory doesn't hold in this case. They have to know from checking our credit (and I have no clue what our score is) that they will not make a cent in interest off us so I don't know why they think we would be "good" customers. :confused3

I don't have a clue how they make their decisions, hope those with the good scores will keep trying if they want one!

Actually that one makes a little more sense. They want to see how you handle credit and if you don't have any cc it's hard to establish your payment history. Just paying off the mortgage I guess isn't enough. Maybe you could get a local store card (Sears? Penneys?) just to get a real credit history?

Just to throw this out there, Chase also has a Disney debit card. If anyone already banks there and just wants the rewards, you could go that route. I am a Chase customer, but I have so far stuck with my regular debit card because if I'm understanding correctly, the Disney rewards aren't as lucrative as the 'regular' rewards. I am thinking about the Disney one, though, because I use the HECK out of my debit card, rake up tons of rewards, and it would be nice to have bucks that automatically have to be spent on Disney stuff! Not to mention, Mickey is on the card! :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I had no credit at all and they approved me a few months ago. I was waiting for the rejection letter and was surprised when I got the card in the mail. All the other credit cards I have applied for have rejected me. :confused3

I have the Chase debit card and use it for everything. I made over $60 disney rewards dollars in 4 months.
The reward rate is crappy BUT, it is kinda like a disney savings account in my mind.

So glad to read this..I had 839 credit score until the great restaurant failure and now it is back up to low/mid 700s. Only debt is mortgage right now, just finished paying off two cars and DVC. I charge and pay off to get the Capitol One rewards (1% cash so I guess it's pretty similar to Chase Disney..isn't that 1%? and I'll use the cash at Disney, so really, it's almost the same thing) BUT I cannot get a Disney Visa..Odd thing is I had a small Washington Mutual card which changed to Chase, which I never use, but you'd think since I already have a Chase card I could get the Disney one..but nooo. And, I just got a letter saying my unused Chase card will convert to some reward thing this month..but NOT a Disney one..silly....

Like I said, I still won't believe it until it shows up in my mailbox...AND I WILL BE PISSED if my credit limit is as much as my $600 balance transfer! I called the number again to see if the info had been updated to say my credit limit & it still says "app under review...7-10 days..." I will let you know what happens...I'm chompin it to bit waiting!

Simliar situation with me. I have 0 debt other than my mortage, lots and lots of available creidt and pay off any balances every month and NEVER pay a dime of interest. I have no idea what me credit score is, but it has to be decent as I get no less than a dozen offers from various banks every month for pre approved CCs.

I have had a Disney Chase card for about a year (first one I received the $150 offer) and then applied for and was approved for another with the $200 offer just last month. I have several other Chase CCs so Chase knows I don't ever carry a balance and am never late so know they do not stand to earn a dime off of me in fees and interest. What they can see is that I charge just about everything every single month, so they will make a nice fee from the merchants.

Also I was never approved on the spot. Both approvals showed up on my account section of the Chase site then I received the card in the mail shortly after that.

If you are determined to get the chase disney visa card, go to the bank and open a checking account. Use the account and establish yourself as a good loyal customer. I'm sure you will get it. The branch manager will probably offer it to you if you inquire about their credit cards. It will be low to start, like $200.00 but will go up in time:)

I'm so glad I read this thread. I, like others here have mentioned, have good credit, and I could not believe that I got denied when I applied for one a few months ago.

Ahh, now there's something that didn't occur to me! So even though I don't pay a penny in fees or interest, I do charge everything all month long so they are making money off the merchants! Makes sense. :thumbsup2

I haven't even been offered that card. They keep sending me the info for the Freedom, Slate and a one other but no Disney with $150 or $200.

I applied a few months ago but got denied. I have good credit and I have CC debt, so should I try again? What do you guys think?

Have you opened new accounts lately? Do you know how many inquiries you have?

Don't think Chase likes to many inquiries.
