Is there any band that you liked live but don't like their CD's?

Is there any band you love their CD's but don't like live?

For me, I love Cher's live show, but wouldn't buy her CD's. It's not really my type of music, but she's such an amazing performer who puts on an amazing show--so much more than just a concert!

I love 3 Doors Down's CD's, but don't really like them live. I've had tickets to at least a couple dozen of their shows over the past three years, and have stayed to the end of exactly one of their shows. They almost always have amazing opening acts, and that's why I go (or I end up with free tickets and wonder why I bothered after I get there LOL!). Nothing personal against them, they are really, truly great guys!

Is there any band that you liked live but don't like their CD's?

Generally, if I don't like the band's music, I wouldn't ever go through the trouble and expense of seeing them live. I cannot think of a single instance where the first exposure I've had of a band is their live show, which I enjoyed, only to find myself not enjoying their CDs.

My wife says she doesn't like Wilco. (We loved them live, but I've never listened to their CDs.)

Yes. Yes. (I mean Yes, the band Yes.) Their CDs are of course utter classics. Their live show is abusively horrible.

I will watch almost anybody live. A live show has an energy that isn't always translated to a CD. For instance, I really enjoyed seeing Cool and the Gang two years in a row at Epcot, but I'm not that into classic funk and would not buy a CD.

I can't think of any band whose CDs I like but I don't like live, since I love live concerts.

I'll be seeing Allison Krause and Union Station live in January--although bluegrass is my favorite genre, I'm not an Allison Krause fan, so I'll be curious to see if I enjoy the concert.

Sort of. Not a huge fan of Springsteen except when he's live.
